Alda Hotel Reykjavik

Get the breakfast - eat the crackers, and take the juice shot - so good. The water machine is amazing - fill your water bottle from there every day before heading out.

So from the moment we arrived to be greeted by two smiling faces on reception set the tone really. This is the way to greet guests...This carried on throughout our stay and was greatly received.. Hotel in perfect location. 11 minute walk to Bus Stop 12 for some tour pick ups. 17 minute walk from bus terminal once you have arrived on the bus from the airport. (Recommended as taxi expensive from airport and even for short journeys) 20 ish minute walk to harbour for other tours on water (whale watching or Northern Lights) Room was cosy shall we say but had everything we needed including a fridge which came in very handy. Had a problem with the TV but that was dealt with quickly by replacing it. In house restaurant and also hairdressers and Starbucks just off main reception for pastries etc. Bonus supermarket 1 minute walk is about the cheapest place about that we found for our baguettes and sandwiches to take on tours. Very fresh, clean, modern hotel and would stay again.

Our check in at reception was not welcoming which set the tone of our one night stay. Check in is where first impressions are made. Even though the Room was great, location excellent, check out was pleasant, and breakfast was great, I would think twice before booking here again.

Great place in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. We had a balcony room which was great for viewing the Northern Lights!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Alda Hotel Reykjavík. The location is perfect—right in the center of the city, making it easy to walk everywhere. We also loved having a Starbucks and a restaurant right in the lobby, which made mornings and quick meals super convenient. The lobby itself is clean, modern, and welcoming. Our room was simple, minimalistic, and just the right size for our family. It wasn’t overly large or luxurious, but it was exactly what we needed since we spent most of our days exploring the city. One detail I especially appreciated was their L’Occitane amenities. It’s such a nice touch and made the stay feel a bit more elevated. We also found it incredibly helpful that the hotel provides a cellphone for guests to use during their stay. Since there’s no telephone in the room, having a phone available for exploring the city was convenient and saved us from relying on our own devices. The room and facilities were consistently clean and well‑maintained. The front desk staff was excellent—friendly, approachable, and very responsive. Before our arrival, I had sent several messages with questions, and they always replied promptly. I also arranged a surprise for my husband’s birthday, and the staff coordinated everything beautifully. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Alda Hotel Reykjavík to anyone looking for a comfortable and centrally located place to stay in the city.

FAB U LOUS hotel. Staff super friendly and helpful. Great location for shops, bars and restaurants. Breakfast was great quality but did get a bit 'samey'. A bit of rotation on the offerings would have been nice but again, super high quality food. The whole venue was spotlessly clean. Sauna and hot tub a nice addition. Shame about Starbucks

Location and great staff

The staff was extremely polite and very helpful, even with matters well beyond hotel business. The property was clean and very well managed. The room was spacious and overlooked the city street with a great view! The next time I return to Iceland, I will DEFINITELY be staying at the Alda Hotel again!
