The perfect hotel for the trip!! We only stayed one night then headed east but the hotel was so nice, had lots of space, very friendly and helpful staff, and was in the perfect location for walking around the city- near all the city’s highlights, food, shopping, etc. Highly recommend!!

It was excellent hotel and the staff was very helpful and accommodated our requests too. The only drawback was there were no microwave and iron for clothes. I wish they had those things then our stay would be more comfortable as we have dietary restrictions. The location of the hotel was excellent as the bus stop 9 was just 4-5 mins walk. Also, the church and rainbow street was at walking distance. We don’t drive so it make sense to book this hotel in center of Reykjavík.

The staff was very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a full range of options. The hotel's location was on a major shopping street in the center of Rejklavik with numerous restaurants just a short walk. The restaurant had superb food and we had several meals there. We would definitely go back. Having a Starbucks attached to the hotel was a big plus!

The Hotel Alda was a welcome retreat at the end of long Icelandic days. My daughter and I stayed here for a week long trip. The room was extremely comfortable, and the staff was nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Cute hotel, great location. Close to Bus Stop 9 which was easy for shuttle/tour pick ups. Very nice front desk staff Only small note is that there was no apparent A/C in the rooms, so if you run hot and you need to crack the window, if you're on a street facing room, you can have some noise pollution as well as cigarette smoke from street level. Bring a small fan if you're a warm sleeper like me! Wouldn't hesitate to return here

Highly recommend this property! I travel a LOT and I can say the women who work at this hotel are exceptional ( the man at the front....not so much :-) The room is very clean and simple. I had a very large shared balcony. I do travel with two portable door alarms, so situations like this are not a concern to me. The balcony has a good view of the volcanic mountains in the distance. You're given a PHONE when you arrive which you carry with you as you travel around. You can call the front desk or other rooms or taxis with the phone! What a great idea! All the taxi drivers know where the ALDA is. It's also attached to a restaurant on one side and STARBUCKS on the other! It's on a main street with exceptional shopping and restaurants! Of course there is a FREE water station downstairs to fill up your bottles with Icelandic water. The front desk called my taxis for me, and even assisted on some of my travel planning. My first time in Iceland and I will now be back and staying at the ALDA again!
