Friendly staff, nice buffet breakfast with hot and cold options, very clean rooms. They have a special rooftop area where you can go to view the Aurora. We saw it!

Pleasant location with beautiful views. Hotel staff was friendly. The restaurant is nice - good food, wonderful service. The facilities are in need of upgrading. The price we paid for an "average at best" room was exorbitant. We were charged over $530 (USD) for a room with threadbare curtains and a bathroom with broken fixtures.

Overall good hotel for travelers. Place is easily accessible and clean. Needs improvements on linens!

First if all I have stayed all over Iceland and thus was by far the worst hotel it was worn down and old furniture cheap bathroom fan was like an airplane toilet seat broken drains not work pillows Lumpy bed terrible just overall the worst for the junior suite and 550 us … I would not stay there ! Front desk staff rude just awful

Front desk guy was amazing

This was the only place in Iceland I didn’t like. My reservation was made over 6 months in advance but I got a room in the less renovated wing of the hotel. On arrival the toilet seat was so loose it was a hazard. While it was repaired after complaint I wonder how it went unnoticed if the room was cleaned. The restaurant refused to serve us and asked us to wait when it was late and we were hungry and exhausted saying they were too busy. There were many open tables so we went elsewhere. There were other small things. Loud fan in the bathroom that was connected to the light and stayed on a long time after the light went out.Unappealing shower. Just not a great stay compared to many varied places and levels of stay on the trip.

The staff was wonderful and the restaurant amazing!!! Mattresses a bit tired, bathroom very small and showers smaller but the vibe was A+! The setting is magical and I imagine the views are amazing however we were socked in with fog, rain and wind.

Great breakfast included. Easy parking. However the standard room is tight, very limited space in bathroom, not enough lighting on the ground level rooms. Staff started cleaning early morning, the door is not soundproof- you could hear everything in the aisle.

Valeria made our stay even better. Excellent service in the restaurant. The food was exceptional. The best food we had in Iceland. And the bathtub was a bonus for achy bones after hiking all week! Will recommend!

Food is quite good.

Hotel Laki can give you a variety of very different experiences. The original(?) building had the better rooms (where I stayed - hence the positive review). Spacious, comfortable, with balcony/veranda. All around, a great room. I did get to see one of the budget room in the newer part of the building - it wasn't great. Tiny, cramped, and just poor quality facilities. They also have the private bungalows, which I didn't get to see, so I can't comment on the quality. The common areas (restaurant, bar, sitting room) were all very nice and well up-kept. Breakfast was very good too. Bottom line is, if you're getting a budget room, expect it not to match the rest of the hotel in terms of niceness. Spring for the nicer ones, if you can.

Super nice room. Breakfast was fabulous, in fact probably the best in Iceland. The staff was super friendly. It was one of the most expensive accommodations during our trip, but your choices are quite limited in this area. The flow of tourists during the short summer season is exceeding the accommodations in the area. The only laundry option was to leave your bag for the staff to wash overnight to $25-30

For the price, I did not see any luxury. The bed was hard and the bathroom was run down. The room I chose was advertised as having a glacier view, if it did I certainly couldn’t see it.

Bed was comfortable, but the room was extremely warm. Shower was cramped
