An aesthetic, clean hotel with cool air conditioning, located on a side street near Klewer Market. At night, there are also many food and coffee shops right in front of the hotel. Check-in and check-out were very fast, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I was so comfortable that I extended my stay for two days 🥰

First time on holiday to Solo. Was confused about choosing accommodation. Finally found this and booked for 1 night first, junior suite type. When we got there, the atmosphere was really nice, felt like home, cool, quiet, the surroundings were also not noisy, there was a garden and swings for children to play, breakfast while looking at the garden really felt like home. All the staff were very friendly. Asked what kind of welcome drink would you like, can ask for extra towels because there were 4 of us. We added 2 more nights even though we moved to a superior room because our room was booked. They helped us move and we were given full breakfast even though the app only listed 2 plus 1 extra bed. The guy helped us a lot, even wrote down recommendations for tourist attractions and places to eat in Solo. He explained at length, even alternative transportation in this high season atmosphere. When we were about to go home, he gave us bread for breakfast (because the train was early, we wouldn't have time for breakfast). Thank you very much. God willing, the next time we go to Solo, we will definitely stay here again.

The hotel was excellent. I thought the room would be small, but it wasn't. I've tried NEOs everywhere (Bali, Jogja, and Solo) and have never been disappointed. The receptionist service was also excellent and greeted me warmly. The valet service was professional and reliable, considering the limited parking area around the hotel.

Getting to Pasar Kliwon and Getting Around

Reaching Pasar Kliwon from the Philippines involves flying into one of Indonesia's major international gateways, typically Jakarta (CGK) or Surabaya (SUB), followed by a domestic connection to Adisumarmo International Airport (SOC) near Surakarta. Flights from Manila (MNL) or Cebu (CEB) to Jakarta usually range from ₱8,000 to ₱15,000, with durations of around 3.5 to 4 hours. The subsequent domestic flight to SOC is shorter, approximately 1 hour, and can cost between ₱2,000 to ₱5,000. Booking your book flight well in advance is recommended for better fares.

Once you arrive at Adisumarmo International Airport (SOC), the most convenient way to reach Pasar Kliwon is by taxi or ride-sharing service, which will take approximately 30-45 minutes and cost around ₱150-₱250 (roughly $2.50-$4.20 USD). Within Pasar Kliwon and the wider Surakarta area, local transport options include 'becak' (cycle rickshaws) for short distances, 'ojek' (motorcycle taxis) for quick trips, and local buses. Ride-hailing apps like Grab are also widely available and offer a cost-effective and convenient way to navigate the city, with short rides costing as little as ₱20-₱40 (around $0.35-$0.70 USD).

The best time to visit Pasar Kliwon for international travellers is generally during the dry season, from May to September. During these months, the weather is pleasant with lower humidity and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the city's cultural sites and markets. While this period is considered peak season, leading to slightly higher hotel prices, it offers the most comfortable conditions. Shoulder seasons, like April and October, can also be good options, offering a balance of decent weather and fewer crowds.

Before departing for Pasar Kliwon, ensure you have your passport with at least six months of validity. The local currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). While USD is sometimes accepted in tourist-heavy areas, it's best to exchange currency for IDR. Consider purchasing a local SIM card at the airport for affordable data and calls. Essential apps to download include a reliable map application, a translation app, and ride-hailing services. Familiarizing yourself with basic Indonesian phrases will also greatly enhance your interactions.

Visa Information

For Philippine passport holders planning to visit Indonesia, including the region of Pasar Kliwon, visa regulations are generally favourable. As of current policies, Filipino citizens are typically granted visa-free entry into Indonesia for short stays, usually up to 30 days, for tourism purposes. This allows for a convenient and straightforward entry process, making it easier for travellers from the Philippines to plan their trips without the need for a pre-arranged visa.

The visa-free entry for Philippine passport holders usually requires that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay and that you possess proof of onward travel, such as a return or onward flight ticket. While no visa fee is charged for this exemption, immigration officers may ask for proof of sufficient funds to cover your expenses during your stay. It is always prudent to confirm these requirements directly with the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in the Philippines before your travel date.

While visa-free entry is common, immigration policies can change. Therefore, it is highly recommended that all travellers, especially those from the Philippines, verify the latest visa requirements with the official immigration authorities of Indonesia or the Indonesian Embassy in the Philippines well in advance of booking flights and making travel arrangements. This proactive step ensures a smooth and hassle-free entry into the country for your visit to Pasar Kliwon.
