Palazzo Calò

In the middle of the historic center, 7 min walk from the garage; very nice room and breakfast. The room was not ready by the check-in time due to maintenance. We waited 2.5 hours to check in, no water was offered and when I asked if we could have our welcome drink (prosecco) while we waited we were told the bar (?) was closed. Overall a very nice place but for that wrinkle.

Although the parking we found was quite far away, it was our mistake. Christina welcomed us warmly and assisted us during checkout by helping us find convenient transportation to our parking spot. Her reception was very warm and inviting.

The hostess made us feel very welcome and was able to squeeze us in for dinner on the terrazzo after a long day of traveling.

Positives: - Great staff: friendly, helpful, very responsive to requests - Location: Near main sites & places to eat - Comfort: good bed & pillows. AC worked well - Lighting: Good in the bathroom especially over the mirror (easy to apply makeup) - Good wifi - Nice shower: rain can & handheld - Thick bath robes - Full length mirror Negatives: - Location: while convenient for sight seeing it was hard to access the hotel for arrival & departure as the historic centre is closed to cars during part of the day & even when it is open there is no road directly to the hotel (must drag bags 20m over uneven cobblestones (harder to do than it sounds) - Breakfast: limited options & little change over several days. More fruit would be good - Lighting: while good in the bathroom it was extremely limited in our room - Room had a balcony but there was a plant at the access door & no chairs outside - our idea of having a drink on the balcony was not possible. - Safe: on a bottom shelf - hard to reach - Palazzo Maurelli: Slow elevator & stairs are metal mesh. If you have vertigo or are afraid of heights the stairs might be an issue - Palazzo Calo: Former guest terrace is now a restaurant so there is no area to sit outside (terrace on Palazzo Murelli is very small with 2 uncomfortable chairs so we did not use it - Bistro on the terrace: very small menu lacking a vegetarian option

very nice hotel elevator too slow

Stayed for two nights at the end of a hectic trip round Puglia. Perfect relaxing end to an amazing holiday - great staff and facilities. Had an early start for a flight when we were leaving and they organised an airport transfer and left a ‘breakfast to go’ in our fridge which was great. Had a meal in their rooftop restaurant the night before our early start which was perfect

Hotel is located in a lovely area in the old city with easy access to everything. Our room was very spacious with a kitchenette and sitting area and a loft bedroom. Air conditioning was excellent and the staff went out of their way to assist us with restaurant reservations and airport transfers. Highly recommend

The location is absolutely the best to be in Bari Vecchio. Close to everything that you want to see. Our room was in Palazzo Maurelli, a building right next to Palazzo Calò. Spacious, bright and antique but with all the modern comforts. Breakfast was good and service was great.

Property overall good!

The most charming, well-located and super clean apartment in Monopoli. The rooms are inviting, well-equipped and well located. We loved the apartment set up and beds and bedsheets were super comfy. You will be super happy-as we were! Don’t hesitate to book.

Nice hotel in the old Bari City close to restaurants and shops

It took a few minutes to get someone's attention to get into the building. Once in the staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable.

Good location for walkability. Nice breakfast included. Air conditioning did not work and it was hot. Lots of mosquitos at night from the windows.
