Royal San Marco Hotel

Right smack in the center of the action. Market next door, fridge and kitchen in the room. No need to go out for a late night snack… buy your ham and bread and snack right in your room. Piazza San Marco is literally 18 steps away. Great value for the location.

This is an old school hotel that does a good job of holding to tradtional standards. The breakfast offerings need to be improved and kept warm. Great location.

Very nice located hotel, walls are very thin though

Breakfast had very few options for vegetarians, hotel charged for water but should not. Door in the room led to another room and was NOT noise proof. Pillows were not soft. Property was clean. Very convenient location. Bed and mattress were good.

The room was very clean, air conditioned but particularly small. There is very little space for 2 adults. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Hotel was in great location. Breakfast was good and a bonus in a city hotel.

Room was great. Staff was very knowledgeable and gave great food recommendations!

Nice hotel with great breakfast but I literally couldn’t sleep because of the hard hard bed. My hip has been hurting since then. The mattress felt like the bottom box springs, no exaggeration.

So we had booked 4 nights at this hotel due to it`s good location and the good reviews on Expedia. We arrived at the hotel and the lobby was nice, the staff were nice but things went south when we got out of the lift on the 4th floor. It was so tired looking and appeared that not a lot of money had been spent on it`s upkeep. Then we entered the room 410. Oh my word it was so bad, it was tiny and it looked disgusting. We went out for dinner and came back to the room and we both new that we didnt want to stay there. We contacted Aer lingus and paid to change our flights for the next day. In the morning my face had 5 insect bites on it. We checked out and came home losing 3 nights.

Easy & very accommodating

Quite the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Staff rude, unhelpful and hotel definitely not as advertised. Supposed to be 4star this could only be due to location it’s certainly nothing to do with staff, amenities or rooms. Initially ignored by reception and as early our superior room wasn’t ready but our friends standard room was so able to leave luggage in their large triple bedded room with modern bathroom. Returned later to be allocated 108 which was dark, small, dirty and with a shower room that had a shower with curtain around it. Hole in towel, bed like a shelf, hard pillows, air con not operable til May which given room was 23c was uncomfortable. Tried to shower but no hot water, tried to unpack but 2 yes 2 coat hangers and 2 drawers filled with blankets. Requested more hangers, 2 more were brought and 2 more hard pillows! Asked to move rooms and queried no hot water but no apology and just that engineer was in fixing water situation. Told we could change rooms next day. Day 2 - offered room 103. Overlooked canal so at first glance ok but actually this was a single room with a single bed and a pull out bed next to it. Virtually impossible to exit bed, shimmy around tv to go to equally dated shower room in night. No headboard, slightly softer bed and pillows but nowhere near a superior room. This hotel is falsely advertising their rooms which are dreadful and only worthy of a star due to its location. Do not stay here

El cuarto esta limpio y comodo. Sin embargo, tienen el aire acondicionado apagado y solo lo encienden en verano. Tuvimos que abrir las ventanas. El personal fue atento y el desayuno excelente.

The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was pretty decent and the staff were very friendly and made my stay very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again. The hotel is literally a few yards from San Marco’s Piazza.

Breakfast was excellent . Air conditioning not working. Excellent location, Rooms small but really clean . Traditional hotel.

It’s has a very good location for one or two day stay, ver close to San Marco Plaza and restaurants. Rooms are old.

Excellent location close to Piazza San Marco. A store with some basic groceries is 2 doors down. The breakfast in the morning was good, and offered a variety of items. Also, the staff were quite helpful when you needed it. My only real complaint is that the basic rooms are about half the size of a regular hotel room. One person would do fine in them, or if you only have check in size luggage, but there isn't much room to put your bags if you have 2 pieces of larger luggage. It is something to be aware of before booking. With the price, you are definitely paying for the location.
