Lovely hotel right at the front of Lake Kawaguchiko. We arrived at Kawaguchiko station at 3pm and asked the lady at the tourist information how to get there. She surprisingly called the hotel so we can get picked up by the shuttle van! There's a regular shuttle van that goes to Kawaguchiko station every morning, from 7am to 10am. The hotel staff are nice and friendly. The room was clean and spacious! We very much enjoyed the hot spring at the hotel. Would stay here again.

Best location possible. This hotel is a perfect time capsule. Everything is so charming and the service is spectacular. Onsen had amazing Mt Fuji views plus there is option for hot bath, cold bath, and sauna. Hotel next door did not have that. Breakfast is so delicious, you have to take part. I'm so so happy I stayed here and hope to stay again soon.

The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. The onsen was relaxing and there is a great view of Mount Fuji from the observation deck, cloud permitting!

This is a lovely old place. I loved the traditional Japanese-style room, complete with futon & tatami mat! The staff are very kind, and the hotel has a lot of amenities & locations to explore within, all with a unique, authentic retro style. The size of the room felt palatial compared to the ones I had in Tokyo and Kyoto. I like the location - you can easily walk to good restaurants, e-bike/boat rentals, Lawson’s & the Scenic Ropeway, yet it still feels remote enough to be relaxing. My only big disappointment was the privacy/modesty window cling in the ladies’ onsen. I understand why it has to be there, as that side faces a neighborhood, but it ruins the view. If you are actually sitting down in the bath, you can’t see anything. I strongly suggest this hotel to look into window treatments that will stop people from looking in but not stop your guests from looking out. “Bathing while enjoying a view of Mt.Fuji” was a major reason I booked this property, so this was frustrating for me. If it can’t be replaced, why not alternate the baths? I noticed from the street that the lakeside men’s bath has no such block. Additionally… a sign with onsen etiquette might go a long way. I witnessed many of my fellow travelers hopping right into the bath without showering properly, not understanding what to do with their towels, etc. This is obviously not the hotel’s fault, but they might be able to help it a bit~

Incredible view and location, even without MT Fuji being visible during our trip. I would appreciate if there were more signs for onsen etiquette. We only knew because of prior research. Lots of spiders outside so unable to open the windows

I had an incredible room regardless of Fuji-San hiding during my stay, the view of the hills and lake was breathtaking. Lovely Staff. The onsen was wonderful. The Obaasan’s at breakfast were so kind and hardworking. This was my favourite food in Japan so far! The staff at the desk were kind and helpful. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in a traditional Japanese room.

This is probably a great hotel, however, we arrived late at night and our room didn’t have a shower (just public bathtubs that were closed by the time we arrived). I didn’t expect this upon booking, perhaps I should have looked closer; though, I never imagined a hotel wouldn’t have a shower in the room so I didn’t think to look. Overall the place was a neat stay (traditional style Japanese hotel) and the staff were kind enough to charter a bus for us to go to the train station (Kawaguchiko Station) the next day (for free). The room was very clean and the gentleman at the reception desk—though visibly shocked we arrived at the hour we did—did a nice job showing us to our room.

This was a very cool and historic hotel to stay in. The location is great, which is either a short shuttle ride or about 15-20 minute walk from the bus station. It is walking distance to the cable car ropeway and swan boats that can be taking out on the lake. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Staff were very helpful in helping us arrange luggage transportation and wonderful massages in our room. Take advantage of the observatory and public bath with views of Fuji. They have great game room with billiards and other games with great energy and people hanging out in the area. The bar drinks were a bit overpriced.
