Shibuya Granbell hotel

The room was a little dirty and smelled of stale smoke. It was obvious it was previously a smoking room by the yellowing of the ceiling. Staff were pleasant and it was good enough for one night. Good location too.

Had a clean and comfortable stay. The three single beds weren’t perfect for us, so I’ll opt for a bigger room next time. The location is so convenient that it more than makes up for it. I’ll happily return.

The hotel’s only advantage is its location. The advertised rating is inaccurate, as the service did not meet expectations. Staff were unhelpful and had difficulty understanding basic English. We had a better experience at the Shinjuku branch.

I stayed for one night. It was clean, and it's extremely close to Shibuya Crossing. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

To start off, staff was very kind and attentive. Location was also close to Shibuya crossing. However, the room we received did not look like the listing online at all. The lobby looked nice, but once you start walking towards your room, the hallways had large scuff marks and chunks of corners were missing. There was literally a giant gash mark on the emergency exit. On their website, they market their rooms to look fancy or at least nice but the room I was given looked ghetto. Their listing for their single rooms did not look like the room we had at all, we were the only room on the floor that had the smallest layout, a missing desk, and was in poor condition: 1 broken shower handle, toilet/ bidets were inconsistent, sink was also inconsistent, buttons missing from the lighting control, paint peeling off from restroom window. I tried to politely request for a room change due to these conditions but the worker was reluctant with changing our room after my complaints. I also found it weird that we would have to call front desk to open and close our rooms.. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Pretty upset that I spent $700 to receive a ghetto/ rundown room, I feel robbed.

The room stank of cigarettes and was unclean. To the point we cancelled our second night and moved hotel. Would not recommend.

Great location and easy to get to and great around. The only thing I could complain about was the beds, they aren’t comfortable.

Location is excellent as it is very convenient as it is right next to Shibuya station. Our room was a little more spacious than other central hotels in Tokyo. Water pressure was hot and strong. Only issues were bathroom towels were a bit thin, no tea offered in rooms, only instant coffee although free coffee machine down at reception which is good but then you had to bring it to your room. Also outdated was the tiny plastic shampoo bottles which only last 1-2 goes. Waste of time for cleaners refilling and for guests. Time to upgrade to full pump bottles

The location was amazing. Close to the Scramble and Shibuya Station. Front desk amazing. Rooms were very clean.

Check-in and front desk were great, but as soon as we stepped off the elevator into the creepy, dirty and busted hallway I feared we made a mistake. The room was okay, but very hot (no AC in room), so they came up to unlock the window so we could leave it open, which made it a bit noisy to sleep. The last morning when I went to open the curtains I saw spots on them that looked like blood...

The plus points for Granbell were the excellent location (within close proximity of Shibuya station) and superb water pressure for shower. However, the room was small, the bed was too stiff and pillows were way too soft.
