This hotel was great and we really enjoyed our stay. It's a beautiful place and being on a quiet bay really added to the experience. The staff were all so kind and polite. It's in a great location as well for easily going out to explore the island if you take a taxi.
I'm a vegetarian and managed to find enough to eat across the week for all our meals, though some of the labelling/ingredients were confusing but when I raised this the staff were always happy to talk and help.
June is more of a quiet season and we did get a rain storm at some point almost every day, but we like the quieter feel and didn't mind the storms.

We spent a week at the wonderful Danna to celebrate my husband’s 60th Birthday and we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. From arrival until departure, the accommodation, service, cleanliness, food & drink, ambience and attention-to-detail were exceptional. We received such a warm greeting on arrival including a shoulder massage. The Countess Suite had two balconies with amazing views over the pool, beach and harbour. The kitchen area had a minibar, Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary pods, replenished daily, numerous bottles of complimentary spring-water, a fruit bowl with fresh fruit and a cake stand which was restocked each afternoon with a mix of savoury and sweet treats freshly made in the kitchen. We travelled with hand luggage only, so we sent some clothing to the laundry while there and it was returned like it had been dry cleaned. My husband got some turmeric sauce on a blue linen polo shirt, and it came back like new. We also sent a white linen shirt that had lost its whiteness, and it came back like it was new. Huge kudos to the laundry staff there as the service is outstanding! I felt completely relaxed after my 90 mins spa experience. The pool is large so lovely to be able to swim full lengths and the loungers on the beach as so relaxing looking out towards the boats in the sea. All of the restaurants and bar serve amazing food and drinks and the service is second to none. This has to be the BEST hotel we have ever stayed in, we LOVED The Danna!

From the first entrance, this is a stunning hotel. Elegant design and well maintained with the most helpful and friendly staff. Stunning sea views. Well maintained grounds with lots of water features.
The rooms are very large, well designed and appointed. No danger of running out of the excellent products in the spacious bathroom which has a huge sunken tub and separate shower.
Excellent spa treatment area. Well priced. Again no skimping on products. The women working there were super friendly and helpful.
Great dining options. Good choice at breakfast.
You could tell the staff enjoyed working there. Loved it.
2 nights was far too short a stay. It will be worth the 13 hour flight to visit again.

The Danna in Langkawi is arguably the best hotel I have stayed at. The building carries an elegant colonial vibe that is very relaxing. But most of all it is the staff that make this experience exceptional. I've never seen such attention to detail, and the fact that nothing is too much trouble is amazing. We went round the corner one night for a meal at the Ritz Carlton, and came back knowing that The Danna staff are better. I can't recommend The Danna highly enough. You will not be dissapointed.

Luxury for the discerning, not for those looking to flash their cash.
Our marina view room was large, exceedingly comfortable and well equipped, with 2 wardrobes, huge bed, tables, chairs, two wash basins, rainfall shower and separate bath.
Pool and beach areas absolutely superb and we never had a problem finding loungers. Complimentary snacks and refreshments offered around the pool during the afternoon.
Restaurants offered wide range of local and ‘international’ dishes, everything you could wish for so long as you’re not ridiculously fussy…but even if you were I wouldn’t be surprised if the excellent staff tried to accommodate you as best they could.
Location is peaceful but within a short grab/taxi ride of everything.

We were amazed at the stunning private beach and pool area. We have been to Langkawi a few times now and this stay was very memorable. All the staff from the reception, chefs, restaurant staff, beach and recreation crew were all so friendly and helpful.

The Viceroy King sea view Suite was spacious w/a large bathroom.The water pressure was excellent, bed comfy. From a room design standpoint, the suite delivers.
-Jellyfish present in water.
-There is ongoing construction at a neighboring beach club, and the noise carries directly onto the hotel’s beach. The constant banging and construction sounds made it difficult to relax, which defeats the purpose of a beachfront stay. Additionally, staff was cutting the grass in front of our pool chairs. This was particularly disappointing given that tranquility is one of the main reasons to choose this property.
-The public areas consistently felt crowded, especially at breakfast, around the pool, and in the restaurants. My husband had to go down at 8 each morning to reserve two beach chairs for us to ensure we had a spot for the day. The atmosphere overall felt chaotic.
-Sleep quality was another major concern. The walls appear to be very thin as we were disturbed by loud neighboring guests yelling, laughing late into the night. Overall, this is not a property we would return to. As a luxury travel advisor from the USA, it is also not a hotel I would feel confident recommending to my clients.
While the rooms themselves have nice features, the overall experience lacked the refinement, tranquility, and sense of safety expected at a luxury resort. For travelers seeking a truly elevated and peaceful 5* experience, I would strongly recommend considering The Ritz-Carlton(5min away) instead.

We had a fantastic sea view room which was spotlessly clean. The staff in all areas were attentive, always available and delivered great service. The quality of food surpassed our expectations. The gym had great Technogym equipment, cardio and free weights. The Spa facilities and treatements were of a high standard, so much so that we went back a second time.
