February 2011 for 3 wonderful weeks at Hotel Imperial. The staff was WONDERFUL and helpful even tho we do NOT speak Spanish.. Barbara, the desk clerk does and was a GREAT help to us in ALL WAYS. It was very clean and charming. Yes, it is old but they are slowly redoing the entire hotel. Some damage in September 2010 from hurricane but that is being fixed. The price was VERY reasonable. Right in the Heart of Veracruz with lots of wonderful food close by and nightly entertainment in the Square....GREAT vacation!!! Great hotel and Interesting trip even without Spanish. ML of Vancouver, WA USA

We choose a room with balcony according to the web side of expidia with the price expidia show then when try to get the room they say the price was wrong and they gives us a different room

No hot water, TVs didn't work, noisy until midnight every night, no internet, elevator didn't work for 3 days and we were on the third floor This is a 330 year old building, and it really needs to be renovated. The staff were nice, and the rooms were clean. The location is excellent---right on the zocalo. It is not comfortable and is lacking in so many ways.

Parking was hard to find. I am lucky to speak Spanish because I had to ask around town to find the streets. I recommend to call the front desk upon arrival to ask for the parking address. Please advice people to find the “Registro Civil” building, when I searched the name and number of the street, Google maps and Waze showed 5 different spots.

Great location but the hotel was empty and not clean. We had three rooms, one of the rooms had chips under the bed, the other room seemed like it was being renovated it had touch up paint covering the mold and the toilet bowls and showers were awful in all three rooms

The hotel is not what is shown on the pictures. Rooms smell and it feels dirty. Staff is not friendly nor help. We had to take our own baggage down to the room and out to the car. Will never stay there again.

Very charming hotel! I loved the old, antique feel, upgraded with some modern touches. The overall historical feel was preserved, and the nice modern touches in the bathroom blended in, without taking away from the old charm. Service was also excellent - all of the women at the reception desk were super nice and friendly.
