This is my 3rd time here in Haenisa Condotel and I must say, it’s as welcoming as ever. No wonder I always find myself coming back to this place whenever I have plans to stay overnight in the city of Quezon. The cleanliness of the room, the well maintained lobbies, the active crew members (not to forget to mention Ms. Jing, she’s a great receptionist. The way she welcomed me in to this condotel honestly gave out a really positive tone to start my stay!) is remarkable! The ambiance, aesthetics, environment, accessibility, and overall quality of stay is what truly sets this place apart from most budget hotels and it’s actually much cheaper relative to that of most budget hotels. I truly recommend Haenisa Condotel to those in search of a budget yet quality stay.

When visiting establishments like hotels or restaurants, such as those found around the ₱ 2,420.46/night price point, maintaining a respectful attitude is key. Dress codes are generally relaxed in most casual settings, but it's advisable to dress modestly when visiting religious sites or more formal establishments. It's advisable to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded places, and to secure valuables. For transportation, utilizing reputable ride-hailing apps like Grab is highly recommended, as it offers transparent pricing and driver details, providing an added layer of security. While Diliman is generally safe, exercising common sense precautions, such as avoiding dimly lit or isolated areas at night, will ensure a trouble-free visit.

In case of emergencies, the local police can be reached at 117. For medical assistance, numerous hospitals and clinics are available throughout Diliman and Quezon City. It is always prudent for travellers to have their country's embassy or consulate contact information readily accessible. For Filipino travellers, understanding the role of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and organizations like OWWA for overseas assistance is also important, though less relevant for domestic travel within the Philippines. Staying informed and prepared is the best approach to a safe and enjoyable trip.

Getting to Diliman and Getting Around

Reaching Diliman is straightforward for travellers within the Philippines, with major domestic hubs like Manila (MNL) and Cebu (CEB) offering frequent book flight services. While Diliman is part of Quezon City, it is often considered a distinct destination due to its unique character. The primary international gateway serving the region is Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in Manila. From MNL, travellers can expect a journey of approximately 40-60 minutes to reach Diliman, depending heavily on traffic conditions, which can be significant during peak hours.

Once in Diliman, navigating the district and its surrounding areas is relatively easy thanks to a variety of transportation options. The most convenient for international visitors are ride-hailing services like Grab, which offer fixed pricing and a comfortable ride. Taxis are also readily available, though it's advisable to ensure the meter is used. For a more local experience, jeepneys and buses ply various routes throughout Diliman and Quezon City, offering an incredibly affordable way to travel, though they can be crowded and require some familiarity with the routes. The MRT (Metro Rail Transit) also serves parts of Quezon City, providing a faster option for certain journeys.

The best time to visit Diliman generally aligns with the Philippines' dry season, which runs from November to April. During these months, the weather is typically warm and less humid, with lower chances of rain, making it ideal for exploring the city's attractions and enjoying outdoor activities. The peak tourist season often falls between December and February, coinciding with holiday periods in many Western countries, which can mean higher hotel prices and more crowds. For those seeking a quieter experience and potentially better rates, the shoulder months of November and April can be excellent choices.

Before departing for Diliman, it's essential to prepare a few key items. The local currency is the Philippine Peso (PHP). While major credit cards are accepted in hotels and larger establishments, carrying some cash is advisable for smaller vendors and local transport. Purchasing a local SIM card upon arrival at MNL airport is a cost-effective way to stay connected for data and local calls. Essential apps to download include a reliable map application, a translation app if needed, and the Grab app for transportation. Ensuring your passport has at least six months of validity beyond your intended stay is also crucial.

Visa Information

For Filipino passport holders planning to visit Diliman, which is within the Philippines, no visa is required as it is domestic travel. However, for international travellers intending to visit the Philippines to reach Diliman, visa requirements vary significantly by nationality. Philippine immigration law generally allows citizens of many countries visa-free entry for short stays (typically 30 days), often extendable. It is crucial for travellers to verify their specific visa requirements based on their passport nationality well in advance of their trip.

The standard requirements for visa-free entry into the Philippines typically include a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, and a confirmed return or onward ticket. Some nationalities may require an entry visa obtained in advance from a Philippine embassy or consulate in their home country or country of residence. Processing times and specific documentation, such as proof of sufficient funds or an invitation letter, can vary. It is always recommended to check the official website of the Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines or the nearest Philippine embassy for the most up-to-date information.

Given that immigration policies and requirements can change, it is strongly advised that all international travellers confirm their visa status and entry requirements directly with the official immigration authorities of the Philippines or the relevant Philippine embassy or consulate before booking flights and making travel arrangements. This proactive step ensures a smooth entry into the country and avoids any last-minute complications upon arrival, allowing for a more relaxed and enjoyable journey to Diliman.
