Smaller place than the fancier resorts but perfect location with really great customer service. From the front desk receptionists(Sherilyn & Lovelyn), to the pool and beach front attendants(Romar/Gab) and the breakfast crew- I am very pleased and impressed with the way they handled everything with a smile. The nightly entertainment was good as well, the singer with the band gravels for tip whenever there’s a song request to the point of even naming a price for the song- he’s pathetic. He laughs it off as a joke but visitors are not laughing. Also it’s a bit too loud for dine in and the microphone/speaker screeching noise keeps happening and not seem to be fixed all throughout the show. Fire dance show was awesome 👏

Your Travel Guide to Boracay Island as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Boracay Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

Traveling to Boracay Island from Manila and other major Philippine cities is most efficiently done by air. Major airlines like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia operate frequent flights to both Caticlan Airport (MPH) and Kalibo International Airport (KLO). Flights to Caticlan are generally more expensive but offer a shorter transfer time to the island, typically costing between PHP 4,000 to PHP 8,000 round trip depending on booking time and season.

Flights to Kalibo are often more budget-friendly, with fares ranging from PHP 2,500 to PHP 6,000, but require a longer land transfer (about 1.5 to 2 hours) to Caticlan Jetty Port.

For those preferring land travel, bus services are available from major terminals in Metro Manila, such as those in Cubao and Pasay, heading towards Caticlan. These journeys are long, typically taking 10 to 14 hours, and fares usually range from PHP 1,000 to PHP 1,800 one way. This option is best suited for travelers on a tighter budget who don't mind the extended travel time. You can book flight tickets and compare prices easily on Traveloka to find the best deals for your trip.

Driving to Caticlan is also an option for those coming from Luzon. The journey involves driving south through various highways, including the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), followed by the Pan-Philippine Highway. The total driving time can exceed 12 hours, and you'll need to factor in toll fees, which can add up. Upon reaching Caticlan, you will park your vehicle and proceed to the jetty port for the boat transfer to Boracay Island.

Best Time to Visit Boracay Island

Boracay Island experiences two main seasons: the dry season (Amihan) from November to May, and the wet season (Habagat) from June to October. The dry season is generally considered the best time to visit, with calm seas, sunny skies, and lower humidity. Temperatures typically range from 28°C to 32°C. This period, especially from December to February, is peak season, offering ideal conditions for beach activities, water sports, and island hopping.

The wet season brings stronger winds and occasional rainfall, which can affect sea conditions and outdoor activities. However, this period also sees fewer crowds and potentially lower accommodation prices, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers or those who prefer a more tranquil atmosphere. Even during the wet season, Boracay remains beautiful, and there are often periods of sunshine interspersed with rain. For the most pleasant weather, aim for the months of November to April.

Food and Dining Near Boracay Island — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

No trip to the Philippines is complete without indulging in its rich culinary heritage, and Boracay Island offers plenty of opportunities to savor local flavors. One dish you absolutely must try is Kinilaw, the Filipino version of ceviche. Fresh raw fish, typically tuna or tanigue, is marinated in vinegar, onions, ginger, and chili peppers, offering a tangy and refreshing taste that perfectly complements the tropical climate. Many local eateries and restaurants along White Beach serve excellent Kinilaw.

Another Filipino favorite that you'll find readily available is La Paz Batchoy. This hearty noodle soup, originating from Iloilo, is a flavorful broth filled with pork, shrimp, and various vegetables, topped with crispy garlic and chicharon. It's a comforting and satisfying meal, especially after a long day of sun and sea. Look for it in local carinderias or more established restaurants that feature Filipino cuisine.

For seafood lovers, grilled fresh catch is a staple in Boracay. Many restaurants along the beach offer a selection of fish, squid, prawns, and shellfish that you can choose and have grilled to perfection. Enjoy them with a side of garlic rice and a dipping sauce of soy sauce, calamansi, and chili. This simple yet delicious preparation highlights the freshness of the seafood.

Don't forget to try Halo-Halo for dessert. This iconic Filipino treat is a delightful concoction of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, leche flan, and ube ice cream. It's a perfect way to cool down and satisfy your sweet tooth. You can find numerous stalls and cafes offering their own unique versions of this popular dessert across the island.

We really loved this hotel. The staff were super attentive and helpful since we first step foot in the door. There is always someone there to greet and assist if needed; really made the whole experience feel luxurious. The hotel was clean and well kept, although we didn’t have a window the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The rooftop pool has the best views and was clean. The pictures don’t do justice to how wonderful this hotel is. Also, the location is perfect, with many food, drink and shopping near by. Also, not to far of a walk to station 1 or 3 as it’s right in between. I would definitely come back.

Staff were great, everyone was attentive, caring, and polite. I would give 6 stars to the staff and service. Hotel location is fantastic, you are right by the beach, breakfast (Restaurant) area has full view of the beach and the white sands. Hotel has 2 pools and they are very nice, but the beach is much nicer. To get here from the Main Street you need to walk your luggage about 5 minutes, and the last 20-50 ft is on sand. You will usually get help from the transportation. Pros: - Location , middle of everything, right by the beach, lots of restaurants, good breakfast, week-end is buffet style. and you can order unlimited, coffee, eggs and bread - Clean: The staff does a superb job of keeping the hotel clean. They mop the floors everyday and my room was always clean with fresh water -Service: Friendliest and most helpful people in the hotel, They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. I do not even remember touching the door as someone would rush to get the door for me every time - on premise restaurant with good choices & Nightly music CONS: 1- Do not expect a high end 5 star Hilton or Marriott rooms here. They are descent, clean but old . Everything is old. 2- my Shower was trickling water, zero pressure. I recommend upgrading shower heads 3- Zero view 4- Old Beds 5- Expect to see bugs, they just crawl into the room 6- AC: OLD type, very loud, and without it, you won't survive. You are really paying for the location

We had an absolutely amazing time. The facility was great, the staff was great. The only reason I could not give it a 5 star review is because of the staff member at the rooftop pool trying to solicit excursions for the next day. I was bombarded and harassed enough on the beach that the last thing I wanted was one of the hotel staff members trying to get us to buy something from him. Or at least use his card so he could get a kickback. Other than him, the staff was top notch.

The hotel is front of the beach, near shops, restaurants, and was able to book a Tuktuk tour around the island. It took me about less than hour to go from and back to the airport during dry season.

This is not a 4 star Hotel. Two at best, I would call it a 3 star because of the location and staff. Doors going out to the deck, did not operate correctly. Water pressure in the shower could barely keep the switch from going back to the faucet. The hot tub in the room did not work. The transfer from the hotel to the airport was 1900 psp for two people. If I would have did it myself it would have coast about half that. Location was great staff was great. Price of it all was way too high. I looked through most of the negative reviews and I do agree with most of them.

I like the location due to proximity to the beach. Breakfast was good. The Staff are super great! I was told by a Staff from a neighboring hotel (Mandarin I think) that I can’t use their beach cot/lounge chairs. So I moved. There is only like three or four provided by Uptown. The ones provided are not as comfortable as the ones provided by the other hotel.

Property was perfect location. In the middle of all the action. For the price great. Room was fine. Only downside was the shower. Poor water flow. Staff friendliness off the charts. Beautiful island. Worth every second to visit. - visit 2 brown boys restaurant. Best food on the island.

Room was badly in need of updating,,, smooth ceramic tile everywhere so floors and shower where a hazard,,, several floor level changes of a inch or two with no rounded top edge or bevel ( took several toe beating to get memory imbedded),, thought I lost key in pool, said there was no replacement and a 300 peso charge,,, was told they would delete lost key access since it had a room number,,, found key next day and access was never stopped,,,
