We had fun during our stay, and even though it was raining, we were able to enjoy the amenities. They have 7 pools, so instead of island hopping we did a pool hopping in the resort. The only downside is if you want to enjoy the party life, or shop and dine around, you have to take an e-trike to get to the main sand bar beach of Boracay. But since they also have private beach, and near cujo’s keyhole, it’s not really an issue for us! We will be back here again!

We had a short but wonderful stay at this hotel. How I wish we stayed longer to be able to enjoy all their amenities. The beach was fantastic, crystal clear water and fine white sand at its best. The area had a lot of activities, the play area at Monterey was very cozy. Shuttle services was swift, thumbs up! Going from one place to another was never a problem because of the great coordination of the security and the shuttle drivers. I'd book this hotel and next time, my stay will be longer! A must!

Your Travel Guide to Boracay Island as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Boracay Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

For the most convenient booking, book flight tickets through Traveloka and compare fares across major airlines.

For most Filipino travelers heading to Boracay Island, flying is the most efficient method. Major airlines like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia operate frequent flights from Manila (MNL) to Caticlan Airport (MPH), which is the closest airport to Boracay. Flight durations are approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, with fares typically ranging from PHP 2,500 to PHP 6,000 for a round trip, depending on booking time and airline promotions. You can easily book flight tickets through Traveloka.

Alternatively, you can fly into Kalibo International Airport (KLO), which is about a 1.5 to 2-hour bus or van ride from Caticlan Jetty Port. Flights to Kalibo are sometimes cheaper than those to Caticlan, with fares comparable to Caticlan. From either airport, the next step involves a short land transfer to Caticlan Jetty Port, followed by a 15-minute boat ride to Boracay Island's Cagban Port. The boat fare is usually around PHP 50, plus environmental and terminal fees.

For those preferring land travel, buses are available from major terminals in Metro Manila (like Pasay or Cubao) to Caticlan Jetty Port. This is a much longer journey, typically taking 10 to 12 hours, with fares ranging from PHP 1,000 to PHP 1,800 for a one-way trip. This option is more budget-friendly but requires a significant time commitment. Driving your own vehicle is also possible, involving a ferry crossing for your car from Luzon to Panay Island, followed by the drive to Caticlan.

Best Time to Visit Boracay Island

The most popular time to visit Boracay Island is during the dry season, which generally runs from November to April. This period offers sunny skies, calm seas, and pleasant temperatures, making it ideal for beach activities, swimming, and water sports. The peak months within this season are typically December to February, when many locals and international tourists flock to the island, so expect larger crowds and potentially higher accommodation prices.

For travelers seeking a balance between good weather and fewer crowds, the shoulder months of November and April can be excellent choices. You'll still enjoy favorable conditions but with a more relaxed atmosphere. The wet season, from May to October, brings a higher chance of rain and stronger winds, which can sometimes affect sea conditions and outdoor activities. However, this period often sees lower prices for flights and accommodation, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers.

Food and Dining Near Boracay Island — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

No trip to Boracay is complete without indulging in fresh seafood. Many restaurants along White Beach offer a wide selection of grilled fish, prawns, squid, and shellfish, often displayed fresh for you to choose. Look for places that grill your selection on the spot for the best flavor. This is a characteristic taste of the Philippines, best enjoyed with a side of garlic rice and a squeeze of calamansi.

Kinilaw, the Filipino version of ceviche, is another must-try. Fresh raw fish, typically tuna or tanigue, is marinated in vinegar, onions, ginger, and chili peppers. It’s a refreshing and tangy dish that perfectly complements the tropical climate. You can find excellent kinilaw in many local eateries and even some higher-end restaurants, offering a taste of local culinary tradition.

Halo-halo, the ultimate Filipino dessert, is a delightful concoction of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, and topped with leche flan and ube ice cream. It’s a perfect way to cool down after a day in the sun. Many stalls and restaurants offer their own unique versions, so be sure to try a few to find your favorite.

For a taste of home-style Filipino cooking, seek out restaurants serving dishes like Adobo, Sinigang, and La Paz Batchoy. These comforting stews and flavorful broths are staples in Filipino cuisine and offer a familiar yet delicious dining experience. Many local eateries near the hotel serve these dishes, providing a comforting taste of home.

Stayed with family for 4 days and 3 nights. The room was nice and we have a good view of the mountains. Very peaceful, quiet and relaxing. The restaurant has good food but the breakfast is fair. Some pools are closed and we are only limited on 2 options but my kids enjoy the Laguna pool. Overall it was a good stay.

Staff was very helpful. Rooms were bit dated with old furniture and curtains. Two of the main swimming pools were under maintenance. The other pools were very busy and not really clean. Limited options in the breakfast and very crowded. Access to the town is not great, You have to change from Resort travel to local travel which takes 15-20 minutes to reach central.

The first time we stayed here was 10 years ago, we decided to give it another try and this time we stayed at the hotel area instead of the villas, thank God as the villas are so run down. Molds on the wall, peeling paint I am not sure if they still use those room. The turn off, the pool specially on the foam party area is murky, I realized that this resort is for the mass and lots of people in the pool that the water is not clear. My daughter got a pink eye possibly from the foam party due to bacteria. I am not sure just my opinion. I feel like more chlorine is needed. The other pool, next to the hanging balcony is better. The breakfast, it wasn’t good. It consist of egg, chicken sausage, pork sausage, pasta on rotation. Fruit was only pineapple and watermelon. Lots of bread. The staff are very helpful. No butter they use margarine.

the best resort and accommodation on the island! The transportation from the airport to the hotel was super easy and convenient. You are welcomed with calamansi juice at the front desk, and free water bottles in your room! The room was beautiful, we got a free upgrade so we had the view of the golf course, and it’s very eco friendly. The restaurants and cafe are top notch, staff is amazing, and the free shuttle was so convenient. If you want to head outside of the resort just tell the security guard “main gate” for the free shuttle and then hop on an e-trike to your destination. It was only p150 one way on the etrike which is super cheap!

Loved the breakfast food selection. It would have been even better if the staff had informed guests during check-in about the location of all the amenities or provided a map of the property and its facilities.

Good Morning We would like to share our disappointment with our stay at this hotel Firstly we were given a room with 2double beds and no balcony for our 7 night stay. After speaking with the Manager and waiting around and much stress, we were given an upgraded room. Then to find out 2 swimming pools and some restaurants/vars were under renovation and not open, we were not notified of this , as we would have previously changed hotels To find out that you can only get out of the hotel on go to the private beach, up and downs stairs to wait for a shuttle bus (could be a 10minutr wait either way) once on the private beach, accessed only by stairs , nowhere to get lunch as all closed , charges for beach activities also Breakfast was shocking , must be the most budget one we have ever had and very overcrowded, or sharing tables We decided to check out 6 nights early, so as not to spoil our entire trip we were ending the Philippines, the hotel staff were apology, but unable to do anything further us You are stuck in this hotel with no option to wait for shuttle buses to front of hotel then get yourself a Tuk tuk out of there Would not recommend this hotel at all

We like our room and ambience of the property. However, having an infant with us, the foam party was a nuisance. Also the bathroom floor was slippery.

It’s a bit special this one. I stayed in Augusta building 9 top floor so had great views, immediate access to gym, two different swimming pools, 3 great cafes, free shuttles within the resort not to mention the Infinity Pool and gorgeous private Paradise Beach. Less than a $4 fare into Stations 1, 2 and 3 where all the main attractions, restaurants, tourist activities and shopping are on Boracay. A very peaceful, clean and well managed resort with lovely staff. Highly recommended and very good value.

My one and only complaint is...How can you justify charging over 200 pesos, PLUS 10% service charge (over 220 pesos total) for a can of San Mig lite, which i can buy at 46 pesos in G Mal? PLUS it wasn't really cold!!!! That's not right, it's unjustified, the entertainment was awful so it wasn't for that , surely
