Upon check-in: Booked for a triple room and my sister booked a double room through the this app. They gave us some cucumber cooler drinks during check-in. Because we booked for 2 different room types, we didn't get to stay on the same floor. So we (us siblings) switched up the rooms. I and my PWD sister will be staying at the 7th floor (twin beds) while my 3 sisters (w/ our other PWD sister) stay at 6th floor (triple room). The front desk was kind enough to give us key card access to the 2 floors so that either of us can go to the other room floors. When I tried my (7th floor room) key card, I was not able to access the 6th floor that we were promised. But anyway, after coming down from the room and complained the front desk about it. She gave a reason that the key card must not be touching my mobile phone and that was why the card is not functioning well. After resolving the cards with her computer, I tried to go up to the 6th floor but to my dismay the card still didn't give me access to the 6th floor. But the card works on my 7th floor room.
Room: Stayed at room 705 with my PWD sister, the room stinks of a dead rat after switching on the AC for a few minutes. To anybody who will have the opportunity to stay at that room and don't want the room to stink of a dead rat, keep the AC at 22 degrees and colder. Because at 25 degrees and warmer, the room will smell of dead things. I didn't get to call the front desk for it was quite late going into the room and we were quite tired.
Breakfast: Breakfast spread is just so-so. A mix of the typical Filipino dishes: sweet-ham, cereals, fruits, breads, drinks, egg counter. No bread tongs on the table, and I had to ask for it from the waiter. Oven toaster seems to be not working so my toasted bread is just bread, not toasted. Egg counter chef seems to be rude. After cooking a couple of omelets I ordered and I had just passed by his counter holding a plate of food, he just suddenly called and pushed the 2 plates of eggs to me. I had to rearrange the things was holding and accept the plate; he didn't think to ask a fellow waiter to help out on placing the plates to my table.
To summarize, 1st time staying at Hotel Elizabeth and no plans on going to again.
Actions they need to be doing:
Update their keycard system.
Some staff needs further training.
Clean their AC ducts for pests.
