The front desk staff accommodated us with our requests when there was a slight miscommunication with our booking. The supervisor was very emphatetic with us and went out of his way to upgrade our room to a two queen bed and larger room because he felt we dessrved to have a more relaxing space after a long travel. In addition, all their staff from housekeeping, security, concierge, room attendants, front desk were very helpful and attentive to our needs all the time. The rooms are spotless, comfortable beds, with complimentary coffee and water which is really nice to have. My family will definitely be back in this hotel in the near future and highly recommend it. Oh and btw, it is located a few steps away from the most beautiful beach in the world!!!

I had second thoughts to book this hotel (because I wanted to book more popular hotels) but no regrets! It is now on my list of the top hotels that I have stayed so far, it's even better than some high-end 5-star hotels. My family arrived earlier than the check-in time but we were quickly accomodated and given a room. There were welcome drinks and they gave us wifi access for our entire stay (up to 40 mbps speed). The room and bathroom was very clean with complete toiletries and even a complimentary safety kit (alcohol, face mask, etc.) was given. The free breakfast buffet is not indicated in Expedia but it is included; the food is simple but great, there is also variety everday. The pool is clean and good for kids because it is not deep. All of the staff from the doorman, receptionist, maintenance, would always greet with a smile and were kind to answer to any request/question. If you are looking to experience your Boracay bucketlist, this hotel is one of the best options because it is near famous restaurants and cafes (also walking distance to main road, docking area for tours and activities, D'mall) other than the fact that it is on the beachfront. Just some points to improve is that the top floor is not accessible at the time of our stay. Also, don't know if it is a pro or con that they cleaned our room even without us asking - but it is an appreciated gesture. For what we paid which was USD330 for 4D3N, it was definitely worth it and I would recommend to anyone.

Your Travel Guide to Boracay Island as a Filipino Traveler

How to Get to Boracay Island from Manila and Major Philippine Cities

The most convenient way to reach Boracay Island from Manila and other major Philippine cities is by air. Flights are regularly available to Caticlan Airport (MPH), which is the closest airport to the island, typically costing between PHP 3,000 to PHP 7,000 for a round trip, depending on the airline and booking time. Airlines like Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific offer these routes. Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Alternatively, you can fly into Kalibo International Airport (KLO). Flights to Kalibo are often cheaper, with round-trip fares ranging from PHP 2,500 to PHP 6,000. However, the journey from Kalibo to Caticlan Jetty Port takes about 1.5 to 2 hours by van or bus. From Caticlan Jetty Port, you'll take a 15-minute boat ride to Boracay Island. Booking your book flight in advance is recommended to secure better prices.

For budget-conscious travelers, bus travel is an option, though significantly longer. Buses depart from major terminals in Metro Manila (like Pasay and Cubao) bound for Caticlan. The trip can take 10 to 12 hours and typically costs around PHP 1,000 to PHP 1,500 one way. This option is best suited for those who have ample time and prefer to save on airfare.

Best Time to Visit Boracay Island

The ideal time to visit Boracay Island for most Filipino travelers is during the dry season, which generally runs from November to April. This period offers sunny skies, calm seas, and pleasant weather, perfect for beach activities, swimming, and water sports. The peak season falls between December and February, when the weather is at its finest, but expect larger crowds and higher accommodation prices.

For those who prefer fewer crowds and potentially lower prices, the shoulder months of November and April can be excellent choices. The weather is still generally good, and you can enjoy the island's beauty with a bit more tranquility. The wet season, from May to October, brings occasional rainfall and stronger winds, which can sometimes affect sea travel and outdoor activities. However, this period also sees fewer tourists and can offer a more laid-back experience if you don't mind the possibility of rain.

Food and Dining Near Boracay Island — What Filipino Travelers Must Try

Boracay Island offers a diverse culinary scene, blending local Filipino flavors with international influences. A must-try for any Filipino traveler is fresh seafood, often grilled or prepared in various local styles. Look for stalls and restaurants serving *kinilaw*, a Filipino ceviche made with raw fish marinated in vinegar, onions, and spices, or freshly grilled *lapu-lapu* (grouper) and *prawns*.

Another local favorite is *Chori Burger*, a grilled chorizo sausage served in a bun, often with a spicy sauce. It's a popular street food snack that's both delicious and filling. For those with a sweet tooth, *Halo-Halo* is essential. This iconic Filipino dessert is a delightful mix of shaved ice, milk, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, and topped with leche flan and ube ice cream.

Don't forget to sample *Sinigang*, a sour and savory soup, often made with pork or seafood and tamarind broth, providing a comforting and flavorful meal. Many restaurants along White Beach offer these dishes, with D'Mall providing a concentrated area for various dining options. Exploring the local eateries allows you to truly savor the tastes of the Philippines.

Local Culture, Safety Tips, and Essential Apps for Boracay Island

Boracay Island, while a tourist hotspot, maintains a local culture that respects community and tradition. It's appreciated if visitors are mindful of noise levels, especially during late hours, and dispose of trash properly to help preserve the island's pristine environment. Always be respectful of local customs and traditions.

For safety, it's advisable to stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas. Keep your valuables secure and avoid walking alone on deserted stretches of beach late at night. The local authorities are present, but personal vigilance is always key. In case of emergencies, contact numbers for local police and medical services should be readily available.

Essential apps for your trip include those for navigation, communication, and booking. Consider downloading a reliable map application for getting around the island. For communication, ensure you have a local SIM card or a roaming plan. Apps for booking transportation or activities can also be very useful. Having these tools readily accessible will enhance your travel experience and ensure you can easily book hotel rooms or other services as needed.

Also, don't know if it is a pro or con that they cleaned our room even without us asking - but it is an appreciated gesture. For what we paid which was USD330 for 4D3N, it was definitely worth it and I would recommend to anyone.

When we got there, they didn't have us checked in even though it says here that they do 24-check in.They said that they were having our rooms cleaned that was why they couldn't give us a room right away. hWhen they finally gave us a room, they were very dirty and not pleasant to look at. Especially the bathrooms. In addition to that, the hairdryer and the wifi were both not working. The staff of the hotel were very nice though.

The absolute worst “hotel” I’ve ever stayed at in my life. It’s more of a grimy hostel with bigger rooms. The room was filthy, the staff completely oblivious to even almost caring. Would argue with you instead of help. No beach chairs, no amenities, a true 1 Star piece of garbage. The rooms we do gross. Thick coat of dust on the bed, stains and dirt on walls. Old showers, the toilet leaked. Nightmare, never stay here.

Its very dirty, stinks everywhere, lobby, elevator, Bathrooms. Stinks like sewer. The room is well made but stills feel dirty and stinky.. staff are incompetent. No gym in the premises. The deck in the ocean view was full of debris!!! Very concerning for children.. they made me pay $200 for extra person in room. So ridiculous.!!! Never coming back to boracay!! They boracay overall smells like sewer and very annoying activity sellers!!!

Great location on the beach front. Hotel rooms does not really have an ocean view. The breakfast offered daily has a wonderful ocean view. Staff is very friendly. The pool is in the center on a lower level.
