    The Heritage Palace

Description: The Heritage Palace offers beautiful vintage interests and architectures from a 19th-century sugar factory in Solo, Central Java.

The Heritage Palace is a new destination in Solo, Central Java. It combines a historical charm and Instagram-able location, situated in a former sugar factory from the Dutch colonial era. Situated in Sukoharjo Regency, the factory was first built in 1892, thus showing a prominent European-style architecture. The Heritage Place was opened for the first time on 9 June 2018. Despite being an old building, this area is far from scary. The building also offers various fun activities. Here are some recommended things to do.

    Seeing Vintage Cars

Visitors who enter The Heritage Place will see vintage cars on the front yard. The cars are parts of “car museum” and a welcome sight for the guests. You can see a 1984 Dodge car, which used to be the favourite vehicle of Sukarno, Indonesia’s first president. You can also see fire trucks from year 1963, a 1943 Willys Jeep, and 1955 Chevrolet Bell Air. You can see even more vintage cars in the indoor area. The vintage car exhibition area has a beautiful black-and-white floor, with high ceilings that reflect the remnants of the building’s old architecture.

Exploring the 3D Trick Art Museum

Entering the building, you will see a 3D trick art museum. Several illustrations play tricks to your eyes, creating 3D illusions. For example, some knives look like real blades stuck into the wall. On the other side, you will see a 3D dinosaur and beautiful scenery with a wooden bridge. They are perfect for selfies or fun pictures. The 3D art museum also has more spectacular images. You can pretend to “fall” from a large waterfall, surf on a large wave, or stand in front of China’s Great Walls. One painting even uses an old jeep as the prop, with a painting of a cliff edge on the nearby floor. It looks like your jeep has just stopped right before “falling” into a chasm.

    Relaxing in the Garden

The Heritage Place has a beautiful and artistic garden. The lawn is cut to form a unique design, along with a pond that was built in the middle of the garden. The garden has a set of wooden tables and chairs. Each table is surrounded by beautiful frames, with a wicker ball hung above. Sitting in this garden is relaxing, and the view is perfect for creating nice photos.

    Taking Selfies

The building itself is a work of art, with a spacious stone yard and European-style architecture. The building has a lot of spots and corners that serve as ideal selfie spots. The Heritage Place is also popular for prewedding photoshoots. The favourite concept is the vintage or royal theme, following the old beauty of the building. The building is also a great place to create a black-and-white photo series. The architecture and details give some Gothic elements to your photos.

    Taking Pictures at Omah Kwalik

Omah Kwalik is Javanese words for “upside-down house”, which reflects its nature as a trick installation. In this area, you can pose and have your pictures taken in an upside-down room. Furniture such as chairs, tables, benches, and even kitchen cabinets are stuck to the ceiling. When the pictures come out, you will look like posing on the ceiling. Are you feeling awkward when trying to pose at Omah Kwalik? You can ask about the staff’s assistance. They will help you to arrange poses and take pictures. Don’t waste the opportunities to get cool photos just because of poor pose arrangements!
