Enjoy the morning drive along the famous stretch of Batu Feringghi beaches and the panoramic views of the ocean. A brief stop is made at a traditional fisherman's village before heading out to the Batik Factory to see and learn the intricate techniques of producing this exquisite Malaysian textile using wax and dye. After driving past a dam and fruit plantations, stop at a fruit stall for an introduction to local fruits and spices such as nutmeg and clove. Next, proceed to the famous Snake Temple, also known as the 'Temple of the Azure Clouds' which was built in 1850. Be on the lookout for venomous pit vipers coiled around the altars and various other parts of the temple.
Stop for a local lunch (on own) before starting a journey to explore the fascinating Kek Lok Si Temple, also known as the “Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas”. This is one of the most beautiful and largest Chinese Buddhist Temple complexes in South East Asia. Then, ascend the Penang Hill or Bukit Bendera via a funicular train up to a height of 800 meters above sea level. This is Malaysia's oldest hill station; visitors get the opportunity to enjoy panoramic views of the island and the mainland.
