Xuejian Recreation Area is located in Tai'an Township, Miaoli County. It includes the Xuejian Recreation Area and neighboring tribes on the northwest side of Shei-Pa National Park. The altitude is between 600 and 2,600 meters, with abundant rainfall and misty clouds. Here you can see the magnificent mountain scenery of the Holy Ridge of Xueshan Mountain. When the cold winter comes, the mountaintops are covered with snow. The name "Xuejian" fully reflects the geographical characteristics of this area. The broad-leaved forest here is the main one, which also provides a rich source of food for wild animals. In addition to the Formosan black bear, long-haired goat, Formosan macaque, mountain muntjac and other medium and large mammals, there are many species of bats, which are the only small mammals that can fly. 15 species have been found here. Its high diversity is rare in China, which shows that its forest ecological environment is extremely healthy. Xuejian Visitor Center is the interpretation base built by Shei-Pa National Park in the Xuejian area. It has an exhibition area and an audio-visual room, and is equipped with interpreters to provide you with interpretation services, introducing the rich natural resources, recreational information and cultural history of the area; the multimedia audio-visual room can accommodate 50 seats, and regularly broadcasts videos introducing the natural ecology of Shei-Pa National Park every day. Group reservations are welcome. The visitor center also has publications for sale and commemorative stamp areas. When entering the Xuejian Recreation Area, you are welcome to take a break at the Xuejian Visitor Center and enjoy the intellectual and emotional space planned for you by this national park. There is a trail on the right and east sides of the Xuejian Visitor Center. Walking in it, you can experience the forest landscape of the mid-altitude broad-leaved forest belt with cool water and the crisp and pleasant chirping of insects and birds.
