Traveling back in time might not be possible yet, but a day trip to the ruins of the ancient city can give you an idea of how glorious Ayutthaya once was. Take the offer, hop on a bike, and you can enjoy the journey through the historic area that served as the second capital of Siam for four centuries. You will visit the impressive Ayutthaya Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where ancient temples such as Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, Wat Phra Mahatat, and Wat Chai Watthanaram are situated. Then you will ride to Wat Niwet Thammaprawat and cross the Chao Phraya River via a cable car and continue riding up to escape into the quiet countryside.
