Singaporeans are permitted to visit Spain for up to 90 days without a visa in the event that they don't apply for any work while they are there. This can be within 180 days from the start of their entry date, and it is applicable for the Schengen zone.

Singaporeans will be required to show their international passport each time they cross the border within the Schengen region. There are 26 European nations inside the zone, and guests are permitted to enter for tourism, trade trips or for transit into a non-Schengen region.

Be that as it may, they will require to have a passport with the legitimacy of three months past the departure flight date.

Other than that, guests from Singapore can travel freely in Spain as well as to countries inside the Schengen region.

The obvious choice we have: flying.

Travellers can keep a lookout for cheap flight tickets to any of Spain's neighbouring countries instead of getting a direct flight to Spain. This is one of those “kill two birds with one stone” situations.

An example of this would be the route where travellers take a flight to Biarritz, France. From there, there is a bus that heads to Bilbao, which is a city in northern Spain. From there, travellers may take a train to Madrid or other cities in Spain.

The route involves three modes of transportation and may take up to 23 hours and 42 minutes of travel time. However, it can give a good experience for those who would like to see more places and experience alternatives to get to Spain.

The fastest flight to Spain takes around 16 hours and 41 minutes. This will cost around 500 SGD to 900 SGD, depending on the dates.

Usually, summer in Spain is the peak season; therefore, the flight prices may be much higher during this time.

Currently, there are a few airlines that fly directly to Spain from Singapore. Those airlines are Air France, Swiss Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa and Iberia Airlines.

Otherwise, travellers will need to take connecting flights.

Some of the airlines that operate as such are Turkish Airlines, Scoot +, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates and a few more other airlines. These airlines will require transit in certain countries either to disembark some guests or to add fuel.

Therefore, the time taken to reach Spain will be slightly longer.

The bus company that operates between the countries is called ALSA. The tickets can be purchased online from their website. There is other information such as the bus schedule and available routes that can be found on their website.

What Can We Do in Barcelona City?

There are many things that make Barcelona such an amazing city. The first would definitely be the architecture.

Being named Barcino originally, the city was under the Roman Empire for two thousand years ago. Many of the original buildings during the Roman era are still there despite some having been fixed, built over or merged into mediaeval buildings that have replaced them.

Some famous buildings include the Barcelona Cathedral, Santa Maria del Mar and also the Palau Major or the Royal Palace.

The buildings were built using the Modernista architecture (Catalan Art Nouveau) that was commonly used during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These buildings are now the main attractions for tourists to the city of Barcelona.

Other than that, Barcelona is also known for being vibrant and lively, and they have kept it that way by having carnivals and festivals throughout the year on the streets of Barcelona.

Some of the festivals held over the summer are Sonar Festivals, Cruïlla and Rock Fest Barcelona and also Primavera Sound which can easily attract up to 200,000 visitors daily.

The more famous festivals are La Festa Major de Gràcia, and La Festa de Santa Eulalia. The festivals would often have street parties with songs being played, parades of colourful attires, fire runs, fireworks at night and even human tower competitions.

What Can We Do in Madrid?

Madrid is another major city in Spain that consists of many great elements such as history, art, food, fashion and also nightlife.

The city has wide sidewalks easing travellers to explore the city while many lush gardens are available around the city as a rest stop.

Not to mention the city happens to be one of the best places to celebrate festivities such as Christmas, Madrid Parade or New Year's Eve.

We often hear people going café hopping but not so much museum hopping.

Here in Madrid, there is Paseo del Prado Art Triangle, where there are three notable museums that are available for the public to explore: Museo del Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza, and Reina Sofia.

These museums house art from some of the famous artists such as Picasso, Goya, Velazquez, and El Greco Bosch.

Travel tips:

Usually, visitors would get the Paseo del Arte pass that allows them to visit all three museums at a 20% discount.
Be sure to spend the whole day here admiring works of art as well as some landmarks around the area such as the Astronomical Observatory, Fuente de Neptuno, Fuente de Cibeles, and the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Walking around the city can definitely build an appetite. Get yourself a churros when in Madrid. Almost every café serves them.

These pastries are crunchy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. Often dipped in chocolate, cream or caramel sauce and served with coffee. Some cafes even allow a shot of liquor to be added into the sauce upon request.

Where to get it: Chocolatería San Ginés has been known to make churros using the same recipe since 1894.

Another signature culture of Spain would be the flamenco dance.

The whole dance is accompanied by singing, hand-clapping as well as a band with guitars and castanets.

How to experience: There are theatres across the city that would hold flamenco shows. There are also tablaos or flamenco bars that have more intimate settings for the show, while visitors can enjoy their meal while enjoying the performance.

Cordoba is located in Andalusia city and happens to be the second-largest Old Town in Europe. UNESCO has even declared the city as the largest urban area of World Heritage as there are four sites in total.

Many seem to pass on this city and focus on the major cities; however, this city should definitely be on the bucket list of many travellers.

Córdoba hosts the Feria de los Patios every May. The festival that centred around flowers is not held anywhere else in the country except in Cordoba.

Notable destinations:

Calleja de las Flores or Alley of the FlowersLocated in Old Town, it shows how a normal Andalusian Street would look where there are whitewashed facades and balconies filled with flowers.
Mezquita The Alley of the Flowers will then lead to the Mosque-Cathedral. Visitors will be greeted by Almodovar Gate with high walls and battlements to signify that they are entering the historic centre of Cordoba. This is where the Islamic influence can be seen in the city of Andalusia. Back in the year 785, a Muslim emir built a mosque-cathedral on the ruins of a church. The cathedral is a 16th-century building built in a 10th-century mosque. Since then, it has been enlarged and beautified and happens to be the most beautiful example of Islamic Art in Spain to date. On the inside, there are still columns, and arcades painted red and white while being beamed with beautiful lighting.

Cordoba also happens to be Spain's largest old town. These are the sites that have been protected by UNESCO. These quarters make up most of the old town of Cordoba.

There is also a separate neighbourhood with cobblestone alleys that used to be a Jewish quarter called Santa Marina.

Santa Maria was also known as Barrio de Los Toreros due to its connection to bullfighting.

There are many great things regarding Mallorca or Majorca, as some may call it.

Mallorca has great nature, such as beautiful coastline, secluded caves, limestone mountains and stunning beaches.

Just like other parts of Spain, the architecture in Mallorca is equally outstanding. There is a small town called Soller with many charms. The best thing about this place is that there is still a vintage wooden tram that can take passengers from the city centre to Port de Sóller.

One amazing attraction of Mallorca would be the secluded caves.

Coves del Drach and dels Hams in Porto Cristo are the two top places for those who are more adventurous in exploring the different sides of the city.

What to expect in Coves del Drach:

There are organised tours and walkthroughs for visitors that would like explanations regarding the cave.
Visitors will get the chance to trek over the rocks and uneven terrains. The path will, however, direct you to an underground space with stalactites and stalagmites.
On special occasions, visitors may even be treated to a concert played on the underground lake.

It is not complete for someone to go to Mallorca but did not go to any beaches.

Cala Mesquida Beach in Northeastern Mallorca has 300 metres of white sandy beach and vast, beautiful clear blue water.

Many would come to the beach to enjoy some time in the sun, swimming and having a picnic. There are many other beaches in Mallorca, but this is the most visited one as it is the biggest beach there.
