We can’t stress this enough, but if you get to work from home during this period — you’re one lucky soul. Because the sad truth is that many other Malaysians out there don’t have the same privilege. But we’re all about helping each other go through this period — so, today we’ve jotted down some ways you can help out! We do appreciate everyone’s generosity, because even a little goes a long way.

Happy Bank Crew

Happy Bank is a non-profit volunteer-based organization that is driven by passionate and committed youths of all backgrounds to support and help the underprivileged community in Malaysia. They have started a movement that brings society closer together! Keep an eye on their social media platforms to find out how you can donate or even sponsor a family. For more information, you can email them at happybankcrew@gmail.com.

Girl2Leader Malaysia

Girl2Leader Malaysia was a program formed to ensure that Malaysian women won’t be left behind from decision-making positions, political leadership, industry, and society. Over the past month, their #CareToLead initiative has been delivering daily lunch packs and grocery supplies to those in need, so nobody’s left hungry. You can drop a DM on their social platforms if you’re interested to help!

MODA-Malaysia

Members of Malaysia Official Designers Association have been using their talent and skills to supply the much needed Personal Protective Equipment for frontline workers! Visit their social platforms if you’re interested in donating — your funds will help in things like the fabrication of Personal Protective Equipment gowns, head & shoe covers, face masks, and latex gloves. (You can even donate through QR pay!)

Mercy Malaysia

MERCY Malaysia is an international non-profit organization focused on providing medical relief, sustainable health-related development and risk reduction activities for the community. You do not need to be a medical practitioner to be involved in volunteering for them! Or if you’re interested in donating, they have a donation drive called ‘Seringgit Sehari’, where your RM1 will support them as they provide humanitarian and medical aid to the needy. You can donate here: COVID-19 Donation.

Simply Giving

Some of the less privileged people of our community could really benefit from food donations.

If you do have essential food items that can be donated, you can drop them at a warehouse by SimplyGiving every Monday and Thursday morning from 9.30 – 11.30am, at the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS), National HQ.
