Note that the property is pretty old, so you will sleep in smells of mold/old wood/old sewage system etc for the night. Not too strong tho, tolerable considering the price and location. Otherwise the place was fine. Spacious room, helpful and friendly staff, 3 min drive away from Departure Bay, nice Harbour view, quiet, etc.

Our stay was very much a motel stay and that’s what we expected, but the cleanliness of the room was disappointing. The bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned very well, there was a big spot of something dried on the couch and the blanket that they gave us for the pull out couch appeared to not be washed as there was something dried on that as well. I wish I would have seen that there was no air conditioning. Keeping the windows open wasn’t an option as our room was accessible from the outside and being right beside a busy road caused lots of road noise.

The room rate is advertised at $105, not the $161.00 I was charged, for a total of $461. The hotel had a rating of 9.2. Wow. This was a huge disappointment. I asked the front desk if they would honor the rate of $105 and she refused. That was BEFORE I saw the room. The hotel is old, poorly maintained, screens and windows were broken. Window screens had holes with several flies on the screen. The window tracks were filthy & black. The mustard colored paint was chipped, damaged, dirty. The Seaview Queen suite did not have the fireplace pictured, nor did it have any view of the sea. The only view was of a weed infested side yard through the broken windows. Old painted particle board cabinet doors were chipped with missing chunks of particle board. Every piece of molding was chipped, worn and dirty. The furniture was very dated, cheap pine that was worn and stained. The nightstands had been painted, but the paint was chipped. The hotel has not been renovated since the 1950s. We stayed to register a complaint with Hotels.com.The hotel clerk came over while I was in the phone. I showed her the broken windows and screens. She opened the window and let the flies into the room. We left with 30 minutes. My friends in another room noted similar disrepair and lack of maintenance. To open the microwave door required moving the small refrigerator placed in front of it. Seaview Queen Suite was a scam. The hotel is on par with a run down 1950 no-tell motel in a bad neighborhood

Parking was good. Check-in was easy and the staff was extraordinarily kind and responsive. The Inn is definitely in the vintage category, but well-maintained and clean. The beds are exceptionally comfy and inviting. In a conversation with a guest in another room, I mentioned that the beds felt like crawling inside the perfect marshmallow and she agreed. Crisp - soft snowy white linens and duvet. Each window had high quality blackout curtains, which made things feel cozy and private. We stayed in a 2-room unit with a kitchenette. It was nice to have a sofa to sit on since we were staying for 8 days. The kitchenette was very serviceable, well stocked with dishes, cutlery and pans, which allowed us to eat in when we didn't feel like going out. My only caveat is that if you're afraid of heights (like I am) or have any mobility issues, request a ground floor unit. We were on the top floor and the exterior 3-flight staircase was difficult for me to navigate due to my fear of heights. The location is fabulous. Close to everything and with a view of the water. The housekeeping staff was so friendly and responsive. A special shoutout of thanks to Ali.

This was mis-sold. The room was dirty and shabby. The bathroom wasn’t clean with hair in the sink and toilet clearly given a cursory clean. I found hair on the sheets. A small fridge and freezer seemed to have been dumped in the room. The coffee machine was dirty (there wasn’t any tea/coffee in the room in any case). We knew there would be no air conditioning so that was not an issue but given the location by the main road and the flimsy windows it did not look or feel safe especially to leave our things in it and go out. The photos on Expedia looked nothing like the room we got. When asked I was told it was a ‘studio’ and so different photos on the site if I really looked into it. This is advertised as 3 star which would have been fine as it was just an overnight stop before the morning ferry. But this is barely 1 star. (In any case it’s not about the star rating as I’ve stated in basic but clean and safe 2 star hotels). We stayed for about 20 minutes and in the end decided to cut our losses (~£150 for the two rooms) and move to a better hotel at our cost. I asked about the possibility of some money back but was of course declined. Expedia needs to look at this place and it is described on the website. This experience also makes me reconsider using Expedia in the future.

I already sent in the first email that you gave me in regards to our check in. We didn’t actually stay there because as soon as we got into the reception area, there was such a strong chemical smell, which we figured must be some kind of bug repellent because in our room, we found a bug on the bed that looks like a bug bed. The owner agreed it was probably a bug bed and that they haven’t had that problem for about a year. he had no extra rooms available or any other properties so we had to find other accommodations. The bottom ruffles of the pullout couch were very frayed and old. The carpet in the bedroom was very soiled.
