Gammeltorv Apartments

Centrally located small, clean. safe apartment close to cafes, restaurants, shopping and major Copenhagen attractions. Can be noisy on weekends, however that is the tradeoff for the excellent location.

The apartment was outdated and needed a lick of paint and some DIY. The building is old so the apartment was done on the cheap. The flooring is lobsided that the furniture was not balanced. Noise level was unbearable and an alarm was set off 2 nights we were there not sure it was the fire alarm as there was no fire safety information in the building so was a scary wake up. Paid for cleaning services extra and you only get provided 1 set of towels and 1 tea towel. Asked if cleaner was coming in to give clean towels to be told you only get 1 set which was 1 small and 1 medium towel. So had to reuse dirty towels. Not nice

The apartment is in a great location, right in the centre (at night can get noisy though from the surrounding bars). Very well cleaned, with enough space and had all the amenities for our 5 night stay. A great stay!

I book approximately 100 hotel nights a year and I am a very experienced traveler. I can absolutely state that this is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. Avoid avoid avoid.

The entrance was hard to find in the courtyard; I assume the sign fell off the door. There was no toilet paper when we arrived. There was no network television; we look forward to watching local tv when in a new country. Overall, the apartment did not appear as advertised. It was very dusty, with layers of dust on the plastic tree in the bathroom and in the bathroom ducts. Broken paper light fixtures in the main room, cords handing from the ceiling. Neighborhood was beautiful, but the apartment needs some work. Also, I didn’t realize that I was basically booking a by-owner rental through hotels.com. I avoid AirB&B on principle. I thought I was staying at an aparthotel. I don’t like that hotels.com is taking part in this gig economy that artificially inflates rental prices for locals. This is not what I expect from hotels.com.

The flat itself was excellent, quiet, spacious and clean, a very good energy, very well located and kitchenware very comprehensive. That said I can only reccomend it if you get certainty as to where the key to the gate between the street and inner courtyard is. It was not in the flat as promised and the box outside the gate with the keys is impossible to open. Not many people come in and out. Long story short we had hoped to go out in the evening but could not as we had no keys and no idea how we could get back in.

Amazing apartment, exactly like the pictures! Such a good location and lovely place. Difficult to find the front door at first but the city, the apartment and everything was just perfect! Would 100% stay again! They'd also left lots of nice touches so it felt like home, for example gorgeous bath soaps, coffee, etc.

The studio was very comfortable with everything needed to cook a meal and eat and watch TV in comfort. Great area downtown, close to transport.

Excellent location in the centre of Copenhagen not far from Tivoli gardens. Set back from the street and on the first floor we found Carl Nielsen to be a quiet relaxing space. The low ceilings and original features gave the apartment a lovely cosy feeling. Although not a large apartment it gave more space and privacy than a hotel room from a comparable cost. We had to email and call with a couple of queries and had an immediate and very helpful response. We all loved our stay at Gammeltorv apartments and it was certainly the best place I have stayed in Copenhagen. I would certainly recommend it as a place to stay.

MY RENTAL SMELLED LIKE CURRY. I booked on expedia and it said “Estimated Total: DKK1,752.00 ($266.73)” however I found on my credit card statement that I was actually charged $343USD(2,204DKK). At booking it was not made apparent which apartment in this property I would be receiving, later on I was informed that I was assigned BLIXEN on the 4th floor. There is no elevator/lift, I have stayed at apartments in Stockholm and Rome that have lifts, however without one I had no choice but to drag 2 23kg luggage’s up 4 stories. Had I been made aware prior to booking that there was no lift and that I would be assigned the 4th floor, I would have seeked a room elsewhere, as I was traveling with my 70 year old mother. The actual apartment is nice, very rustic and clean, but smelled very very strongly of curry. Even after opening the balcony door and several windows the smell remained. I contacted HABITAT to ask if another room was available, and on Expedia it said there was, because 1. The smell of curry was unbearable and I did not want it to permeate my belongings, 2. My elderly mother was having issues with the stairs. I was told “um I’m not at the office right now, but I will ask my colleague when I get back to the office” at 4pm(16:00), then when I called/texted to follow up, my calls were ignored. Finally someone emailed me back to tell me that they could not accommodate me with another room, and that they would not offer any remedy for the smell.

The location is in-beatable. It is in the center of city attractions. Also it's walking distance to the Central Station. However please bear in mind, this is an old house with less efficient bathroom and no elevator if you carry luggage. Enjoy exploring Copenhagen.

A few things about this property--it is clean, and VERY well located to the shopping district, Tivoli, and the train station. The furnishing are nicely appointed. It is in a safe neighborhood. The staff were very nice and immediately helpful when I called with an issue. BUT. The pictures don't really match the facility. The ceilings were extremely low, and for 3 people, the apartment was quite cramped. In addition, these apartments are advertised as "luxury," but are really more along the "basic" lines. The bathroom basically needs a gut renovation (honestly, cleaning the vent fan, which looks like it has never been done, and replacing the chipped mirror and holes in the tile backsplash would be an immediate improvement). The other issue with the facility is the location. While it is great in terms of exploring Copehagen, it looks out onto a courtyard and multiple other units. It was super loud. Neighbors talking, singing and watching TV at all hours, people in and out, etc. There was not a single night when outside noise didn't wake us up. ALSO BEWARE--this unit backs up to the LEVEL club. Friday night (our last night, when we desperately wanted some sleep), LEVEL has rooftop bar hours, with a DJ playing 80s music, until 2am. It was so loud that even with foam ear plugs and Bose noise canceling headphones, you could still hear the music. Overall, we were quite disappointed in the experience. I wanted to like it--but it just had too many things against it.

Difficult getting into apartment and had to climb three flights of stairs with heavy suitcases. The shower stall did not drain out properly and the floor got very wet. There was no TV just a few video tapes. It was conveniently located and easy walking to shopping and site seeing.

Location was unbeatable. Easy walk to tourist attractions and all forms of public transportation as well as bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and retail shops. Process for "checkin and checkout" was so super easy. Bed was REALLY comfortable. Apartment was equipped. If you are 6 foot or taller you may have to duck through doorways as ceiling and doorways are low but that was not a problem for us as we left the men at home on this trip!

Dejlig beliggenhed rolig og fredelig rigtig fin lejlighed det fungerer godt 👍 Det eneste minus brusekabinen var lidt utæt vand på gulvet Ellers rigtig fint kommer gerne igen 😊

Grei leilighet med veldig bra beliggenhet. Da vi ankom var det ikke noe rom til oppbevaring av bagasje (slik vi hadde fått beskjed om). Heldigvis var leiligheten ledig. Det manglet litt forskjellig (sengetøy, såpe, toalettpapir), men de var raske med å ordne opp likevel. Det var også forvirrende at de oppga ulike tidspunkt for innsjekk/utsjekk og vaskerutiner i mailene før ankomst.

Lejligheden var usædvanlig beskidt alle steder, der var mug i hjørnet i soveværelset, brusehoved var total utæt og bruse ophænget virkede ikke.

沒有電梯，只有傳統的木製樓梯，廚具明顯沒有清洗乾淨，牆角有小蜘蛛，窗台有塵，淋浴去水很慢

暗証番号が３つ送られてきますが，門がなかなか開きません。出てくる人がいたのでは入れました。 部屋は５階でエレベーターはありません。階段は木製で擦り減っていてとてもこわいです。 ２階くらいまではとても荷物を持って上がるのは難しいです。部屋の改装をしているようですが こちらは早急に直した方がいいと思います。 冷蔵庫の中に使いかけの野菜果物、飲みかけのワインジュースなどが入っていた。 冷凍庫は霜と保冷剤でいっぱい。床は傾いているし、クローゼットの中には開けて捨てていった封筒など、洗面台の下のドアを開けると使ったかどうかわからないタオル。 テラスに出ると非常階段直結、このドア（部屋からテラス）に鍵はなし。 いろいろ考えて利便性を優先するならどうぞ
