Solo traveler here The room was spotless and I loved it . They have an espresso machine in the room and the lounge upstairs was soo good and the food was good there too. There’s a grocery store right downstairs as well. Loved it at Zoku

Loved everything about Zoku …fun and efficient rooms…friendly staff…great breakfast with variety. Provided extra items for a better sleep without any issues. The only thing was that it’s a little outside the city but,of course, there was easy access to public transportation!

The hotel building itself was gorgeous. The rooms were beautiful, the shared spaces were thoughtful and full of fun amenities. We loved having a dishwasher, fridge and access to laundry. The bed was super comfortable and the location was super convenient. The staff, however, were awful. Unfriendly, aloof, and even rude on most occasions. Examples: when we were checking in, the hotel staff were standing far from the desk but noticed us and made eye contact. They decided to finish a long conversation before finally coming over and asking us what we needed, as if *we* were the ones being rude. A few times we tried to get a seat at the hotel restaurant for dinner. We were simply told no, it was full (at 4pm on?? All 3 nights we asked?) and not offered to be put on a list or ; at a minimum, a seat for the next available on a different day?? We felt like if we were spending $1200USD for a week's stay here, it *should* be possible to eat at the restaurant. Once. During our stay. Every interaction we had made us feel like we were the most incompetent idiot ever and we have traveled to 43 (forty three!) other countries around the world and have never been treated this way. It was such a shame for the amount of money we spent and how far we came to enjoy our holiday.

The property emphasizes over cute design over comfort. You had to climb and crawl into the bed which was in a tight niche. There is an overabundance of unnecessary built-in cupboards and niches that take up the space where you could had easier access to the bed. To make matters worse, a big step separates bed level to bathroom, a hazard if one is groggy at night. Oh, check-in is on top floor, requiring several unnecessary trips up and down elevator. This is definitely a place for hipsters rather than mature adults
