Corner room was much nicer with 3 big windows facing the church square. Hot water worked fine this time. Ask for room #4, avoid #5 as hot water wasn't working and it is pretty dark.

The staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. The rooms were large and comfortable. They offer private tours in Quito, but also the surrounding areas. We did 3 tours and they were beyond great. I highly recommend staying here and the tours are an absolute must.

Lovely room in a 500 year old hotel. Big rooms, but also couches and armchairs in the shared balconies and courtyards. Very friendly staff Fabulous breakfast Right next to La Ronda - which was disappointing. Allegedly the arts precinct full of music, but instead full of pizza places and karaoke. Spent most of my time in the hotel - lucky it was such a nice place

Unique property with intriguing character. The staff were super helpful, breakfast was fresh, healthy and delicious, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Near to historical sites, easy to walk. WiFi was great, warm water in the shower, unlimited purified drinking water free of charge. Only complaint was the road noise was a bit loud for a light sleeper early in the morning.

The support from staff is exceptional at Hotel Alquimia. The hotel space and ambience contribute to the feeling of a safe oasis in the busy city. High ceilings and having extra hang-out spaces are thoroughly enjoyed. Also appreciated the abundant convenient drinking water.

This hotel was the best thing about my trip to Quito. Amazing building hundreds of years old. Big rooms plus lots of couches to sit overlooking the lovely courtyard. Lovely breakfast. But the main attraction was the really friendly and welcoming staff. A great find. Thanks!

I give Hotel Casa Alquimia 5☆ because there are no more stars to add. I absolutely loved my stay there with my family. Andre was very responsive and accommodating and all of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. I really appreciated the hotel's added service of being picked up and dropped off at the airport for a reasonable price. Additionally, I waited last minute to book a tour so there were no available tours for the days I wanted, but I didn't know that the hotel also offered a variety of tours that luckily I was able to book very quickly with the help of management. I was very grateful for our tour guide Yoel, and driver Manuel who were very professional, knowledgeable and fun to be around. They took us to "Baños" were my family and I enjoyed several activities all strategically put together to get the best nature experience I could asked for. My kids completely loved this adventure Yoel prepared for us, the restaurant he suggested and the patience to answer all our questions about the country. Finally, the hotel is so beautiful and conveniently located. Everything inside the hotel looks cozy, nicely decorated and well-preserved, keeping its original style intact. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, healthy and prepared by the nicest people ever. I never thought I would fall in love with Quito so much. Whenever I come back to Ecuador, I'm definitely coming back Hotel Casa Alquimia. I'm really thankful to them for making our stay so unique and memorable.

This is a very lovely ecuadorian style hotel, with very friendly staff. It has marvelous decorations all over, the beds are comfortable, the showers are hot. It does not have elevators, but the staff happily carried our bags to the third floor, where our room overlooked a plaza. The breakfast was made to order with a marvelous bowl of fresh fruit. It is right in the heart of the old city and was quite safe to walk at night. It was so nice to stay in a hotel that was different from the cookie cutter american type of hotel.

We had a great stay at Hotel Casa Alquimia. The staff was fantastic. The hotel itself was historic and decorated artfully. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The hotel is well located in the historic center of Quito. All the main squares, churches and museums were within easy walking distance. It was easy to get a cab or the Metro to go further. The street out front was lively (and quite noisy) during the day. We would definitely, happily, stay there again.
