Fantastic overnight spa stay. All staff were so polite, helpful and professional and made us feel very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. Spa was a lovely experience with great variety of different experiences to try. Had a facial treatment which was a lovely experience Spa kept clean at all times . Hotel room lovely, beds very comfy. Breakfast was a wide variety of continental items to help yourself to and then a pleasant surprise to have a full English breakfast cooked to order rather than queuing at a buffet . Ambience was lovely and staff were smiley and doing a fabulous job . Lovely relaxing break. Only downside was would have loved spa access a bit earlier on the day of check in.

We were told parking was not available at the property yet a few expensive looking cars were parked in the front of the hotel in the semi circle for all the time of our stay - so not sure why as the signs did say no parking yet they didn’t move! The spa was also not included in the price whereas at most hotels this is a standard offering for hotel guests and was charged daily so was very expensive. Breakfast was also a bit chaotic on our first morning, service was slow and not a lot of choice on the continental side. Apart from those issues, the hotel was lovely and the rooms very spacious. The staff when we arrived quite late on the evening were very good as was the staff in the restaurant.

A lovely hotel with great spa facilities; perfect for a short relaxing break. Just a shame that the coffee offering is so poor! Instant coffee sachets in the rooms rather than a coffee machine and very weak cafetière coffee served a breakfast. It was great to receive a free bottle of water in the room, but even better if it had been Buxton water!

Very nice stay - everything was very good. The only things I would say could have improved our time was that it would have been very helpful for a member of staff to show us around the spa as it’s not always clear where to go. Also the service was slow at breakfast time.

Ive stayed at this hotel so was a return guest. I was shocked that after i had booked through expedia i was phoned by the hotel to say we had to pay extra to use the pool area. It would have been an extra £160 for use of the pool for one afternoon and a early swim the morning. The breakfast this morning was poor and the service very disappointing. We had to wait over 30 mins for our breakfast they ran out of juice bread fruit x butter and i and many other guest had to keep asking for things to be refilled. Rooms were nice just has before which is a positive. I will not be going again as it is not worth the money x if you are going for a spa day there are much nicer spas to go to! On a plus Buxton is a lovely place to visit

The hotel was fine but definitely not of the standard I would expect from a usual Champneys venue. Rooms felt a bit dated, especially the dining area. The food was very average and we ended up cancelling our evening reservation as it looked far too expensive for what was on offer. I have found other Champneys are known for their healthy and tasty food. Small touches were missing such as someone offering to take our luggage on arrival and charging £30 for valet parking. They also charged £10 if you wanted cutlery sent up to your room. The spa was nice enough and the spa staff were friendly. Overall I didn't feel this stay was value for money and wouldn't return to this Champneys hotel.

Lovely hotel, great spa facilities, lovely room, with some noise as the bottles from nearby bars and restaurants are emptied when your room is at the back of the hotel. You do have to pay extra at the hotel when using the spa facilities if your booking is through Expedia. This is £40 per day, which is not made obvious at all. Parking is on the street, of £30 per day at the hotel. But street parking along the Crescent is free.

Beautiful hotel. No complaints whatsoever. I stayed in the Crescent Room for 2 nights, while I didn't need or require my room to be cleaned by the housekeepers, I was still left with fresh towels at my door. The breakfast was brilliant. A lot to choose from, not only from the buffet but the menu too. Just book your stay, even if you don't use the fabulous spa, you won't be disappointed with the stay, it's an experience in itself.

Always wanted to stay here. It was very disappointing to see that despite the extreme costs of venue, which spa access is extra and not included in the room price, the staff were very disorganised and lacking in care. The bed was small and hard. Nicely decorated but it fell short of what a hotel spa should be and not what i expected at all. Buxton also used to be a very beautiful town. Now most are gathered around a wetherspoons boasting about how they define being a regular. Great stuff! Not the historic and beautiful location it once was. I thought this hotel would bring it to life but it is actually just the same dressed fancy! This is why we stay in Europe. You pay for what you get and more. Britain is a rip off.

In the main the stay was good but we were very disappointed with the room we were offered. This room faced directly onto the pool which was being used from 7.00 am each morning hence we were woken earlier than planned. The noise of the pumps were also an unwelcome distraction while trying to sleep - disappointing when we thought the rest of the hotel was good.
