This was good value for money. Right in the center of Stamford, so very convenient. The room was clean, beds comfortable, very quiet. Breakfast selection was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. Parking at the hotel was limited but we got a space. Very satisfied, look forward to a return visit to try out the restaurant which was closed on this visit.

Lovely hotel in a great location for the town centre and the Corn Exchange. The owner was so friendly and couldn’t have done anything more for us. We had a lovely breakfast and definitely want to return to experience the restaurant.

Parking was easy and safe. The room was clean and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was good and it was nice to have real milk in the fridge, rather than the long life one usually offered. Reasonably priced and right in the centre of town, would definitely stay again.

The location is absolutely spot on for visiting Stamford. Stamford is wonderful, lots of interesting shops, eateries & pubs. Property has a small amount of parking, but there is also a huge town carpark just round the corner which cost us £5 ( Saturday 9 am - Sunday 10am) The landlord was fabulous,he gave us a super welcome (homemade elderflower fizz - lovely) He even took our bag up the (many winding, narrow) stairs & when we came back from our evening we had a few drinks together & what an interesting man with fabulous stories to tell! The building is very old ( 300 years) & as the owner says himself as it needs much attention & looking after. The breakfast is in your mini fridge. Includes cereal, milk yoghurt, tea, coffee, orange juice, bread, jam etc…toaster & kettle in your room. It was a a great place for a one night stay & we were made to feel very welcome.

Well located a few minutes walk from the town centre with limited on site parking. Manager was not there when we arrived so had to phone and wait outside while he drove over. Room was very small and very dated. Bed really uncomfortable. Shower room tiny as well. Bizarrely breakfast was in the room (box of cornflakes, milk, yoghurt) and not that enticing

I chose this hotel based on the pictures, description and reviews I saw thinking it was a nice small boutique hotel but I was totally wrong. To say the room was the worst I’ve ever stayed in is an understatement, very dated and shabby with wood chip paper but one wall was simply plywood boards. The bathroom hadn’t changed since around 1979 and the shower produced a dibble of water! Nice greeting and decent location etc but extremely poor all round, will not be back and not sure my wife will ever forgive me!

It was an old characterful building with many original features. It was evident from the certificates and photos around the place that it had been a hotel & restaurant of note with award winning credentials. It isn’t a shiny glitzy hotel but equally the decor was quite tired and patched up in places. The room itself was perfectly adequate and had everything I needed for a very short stay with a newly fitted ensuite. The landlord was very helpful & friendly and went the extra mile to accommodate any requests. It’s worth noting that I arrived late and had to leave early the next day so it suited me. The rate was also very competitive and I had everything I needed.

Bed was soft and mattress tilting me floorward. Shower tray was blocked, cutting short my shower. The bathroom sink was the size of a dentist's spit basin making it impossible to shave. Lights in the communal corridor didn't switch on with any of the switches so be sure to have a torch with you to safely stay this hotel. No bedside table or power socket anywhere near the bedside. I wouldn't stay here again.

After a lovely welcome I was upgraded to a bigger bedroom which was light and airy with a really comfortable bed. I knew breakfast was in the room but there was a table and chairs and the fridge was packed with fresh milk, orange juice, yogurts and bread. There was a good choice of cereals, jams etc and there was fresh ground coffee, teabags and hot chocolate available. This is a 2 minute walk from the station and about 5 minutes into Stamford so really handy I had a meal in the restaurant on my second night which was beautifully cooked. This is a comfy, down to earth property and I would definitely stay again. Nelio the owner made my stay. He was friendly and informative and a damn good chef. The lamb was perfect and I got a jug of red wine sauce with it. Yum. We put the world to rights and I left feeling that I was a special guest not just someone occupying a room.

Also allowing us to use a different room for a shower in the morning, as I broke the pull cord on the shower in our original room!
