Nice hotel - helpful staff - especially Emma!

The room (although dated) was spotless. There was plenty of room, the bath was gorgeous, and we loved the addition of cold milk in the fridge. The radiator and aircon suddenly made strange noises in the night, waking us a few times.

The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and the bed/bedding very comfortable.

Old and tired. Got phoned by reception 5 minutes after check out time. Massively overpriced for the facilities.

Quaint charming old hotel with modern upgrades to much of the building. The breakfast looked great but did not have. Staff was outstanding, very friendly and helpful.

Always a pleasure to stay this time u was nervous as I was in the annexe but the ground floor room was modern, comfortable and had air con/heating

We have stayed here several times but this will be the last. The lift was not working for the whole four days and one morning the hot water stopped completely when I was half way through my shower. This was fixed but no-one, apart from the girl at reception, thought to apologise.

I stayed only for 1 night and at first the room was okay, average size with a really tiny ensuite but generally clean. However, soon I realised that the thermostat to regulate the heat did not work - I was too hot. I could open the windows a crack but they overlooked the car park and this would be unsafe and compromise my privacy as I was on the ground floor. At night, the place was really noisy. Kept me awake for quite a long time. I stayed in the annexe on the ground floor and the upstairs occupants were constantly moving around. Noise insulation was non existent. When it comes to the ensuite shower room - it was so tight that to sit on the WC was actually not possible without turning myself at an angle of 45 degrees! Another annoying thing was that I was charged 8 pounds to park my car overnight, but as the hotel seemed to have a function all the parking spaces were taken and it took me ages to find a parking spot. All these issues created a very uncomfortable night for me, and I will not be returning or recommending this hotel.

I had a really bad experience. I chose this purely on cost but I expected more. The room was new and decorated nice but it was in like terrace house, walls so thin I could hear everything. Certainly not good for a couple if you want to do couple things. The room was hot and they just had a desk fan it’s 2025. I’m 14stone so not big and I couldn’t sit comfortably on the toilet it was so tight and a sink in the way. You had to put the kettle on the floor to plug it in. Felt like a cheap b&b at the seaside which I’m not knocking but this is meant to be a 3 star hotel. I can not recommend this to anyone.

Excellent reception experience. The young lady was so very helpful and caring. I am 75 and she was so patient. The only downside is £1.90 for soda water. Most pubs charge 0 or a nominal amount. This is a hotel and there was the service of the water but the profit margin must be enormous and I admit to feeling exploited. However room was very nice as was WiFi. I would recommend and stay again

Great hotel in a great location. Quietly situated within easy walking distance of both the train station and city centre this hotel also offers onsite parking. Would definitely stay here again!!
