The free breakfast is more than enough for a good day out and the staff are really friendly

The room was small but neat and tidy. A bit warm though, but it was that one of those warmest days. We had dinner and breakfast and dinner was reasonably good, the breakfast was traditional English freshly cooked breakfast. It was nice and homely. Andy( Andrew) was friendly

A very clean and adequately appointed room.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and well stocked. Included breakfast was excellent, and staff very accommodating. We were able to order packed lunch for day out. Evening meals in dining room very good, and beer selection extensive.

We stayed 3 nights on a B&B basis. The breakfast was very good and the gentleman serving was friendly and good humoured. Our evening meals were variable in quality but I couldn't fault the rump steak! There was an excellent choice of quality beer. The staff were without exception helpful and pleasant. The hotel is very well located in a charming village with easy access to many beautiful places

Beautiful quaint pub in a stunning village

Polite staff and helpful

On arrival I found there was no onsite parking, despite the fact that it states there is on Expedia, so you need to find a space somewhere in the village, of which there were very few. Check in was ok, but I was not happy that breakfast was not available until 9:00am, I needed to leave at 7:30. I was offered a packed lunch in place of the breakfast, which I accepted, but on a cold winters morning, -4°c, a breakfast would have been better. The room was clean and very basic. The heating was pathetic, with the radiator getting barely warm, I actually had to sleep in my clothes it was that cold. There was an electric heater in the room, when I picked it up to move closer to the mains outlet one of the two plastic feet fell off. The screws for the foot were missing and the heater had been balanced on the loose foot, so staff obviously knew about it. I did plug it in for a short while, but when I left the room to go to the bar I unplugged it, the plug was very hot, so obviously an issue and potentially a fire risk. The bar was quite busy, and the staff friendly. I will definitely not be using this place again.

The room was spotless and the staff were excellent. The room was nice and warm with plenty of draw and hanging space.

Well stocked bar and a great breakfast

My first impression was poor due to the look of the access to my room. It was up some steps over an open store full of clutter. The room itself was comfortably warm and clean with everything required for my stay. The bed was very comfortable. The decor was rather dated and the curtains a little tired. Breakfast was excellent. I could choose what I wanted and how I wanted it cooking. It was delicious and served by a very obliging waiter/chef. All in all, I enjoyed my stay.

Great location and a decent breakfast. However, I’m surprised the room has passed any booking agent inspection with: Radiator not working, including thermostatic valve removed; toilet door did not close; window closed but did not seal allowing wind to blow freely through.

Good selection of drinks at the bar. Evening meal, good choice. Breakfast was OK

Food was great. Check in was a surprise and cost extra because of a glitch with Expedias booking. Not impressed but impressed that Pat did what she could to correct it.
