Strawberry Fields

We initially checked into a room but as we opened the door it stank of stale smoke. We went straight to the reception and they switched our room with no fuss. Thankfully the second room was absolutely fine! Shared bathroom, which we knew upon booking, but there are actually lots of toilets and showers dotted around the property so if one is busy, it doesn’t take much to find the next one. Decent price for Brighton, and incredible views from the attic room!

The staff welcomed us with warmth. The property is very aged. Aware that there was a shared toilet, the cleanliness was positive. The room however, wow! It was a very cosy small room, the bedroom hits the bed upon opening it, in fact the shower door (much to our hilarious surprise faced the bed) and that door also hits the bed, the shower door didn’t shut and the water leaked over the room floor: the shower head sprayed around the body and not on the body due to the limescale. The bed was comfortable and it was a quiet night.

Staff lovey but price was to expensive for what it was

Terrible ! I was not able to check in.. After communication with the hotel to tell them i had added an extra day I drove 4hrs, arrived around 10.30pm, showed my confirmation email and business debit card that i had prepaid the bookings with and the porter would not book me in as i did not have any photo id.. I explained both my passport and drivers license were sent away last week for renewal and i had stayed many times over last 20 years and never had a problem before and was genuine business traveller but he wouldn't help me at all and said manager was not available so i had to book into another hotel with reception staff that can use there common sense.. I told him his boss probably wouldn't be happy losing £200 prepaid booking.. very unhappy with the poor unhelpful service.. used to like this place.

Not the best nor the cheapest but it served its purpose. Paper thin walls, dirty and stained carpets, broken room furniture and accessories. Overly hot rooms, noisy residents and broken doors. If you need a place as a last resort then this hotel serves that purpose. Should not be your first choice but maybe your last if you have no other options.

The springs were so bad on the matress, I didn't sleep. We wouldn't check in until 16:00, and by 08:00 we had vacated the premises. I spoke to a member of staff before I left and expressed my disappointment. I didn't receive any correspondence at all. I was in room 11. Unfortunately I couldn't recommend this property and wouldn't stay there afain. The room needs a revamp big time.

We were traveling with 3 adults and 8 suitcases. What I did not appreciate was not being made aware that we would be hauling 8 pieces of luggage up and down 62 stairs twice a day each day for the 4 days we stayed. The room was fine, the stairs took quite a toll on the group.

The staff were nice & helpful. Bathrooms were decent & renovated in the last 2 to 3 years I’d say. Bedrooms need an upgrade especially the beds, they are falling apart & the mattresses are very uncomfortable & sag a lot in the middle, worst night sleep we had on our trip. We had the family suite & the forth bed was so difficult to pull out from under the other, even with 2 adults as the bed is collapsing. The location is very good with paid parking on the street if you can find a spot.

Our room was available earlier than expected and they kindly let us in. The room was comfortable and warm. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided. Location was central and convenient.

Checking out could not have come soon enough!! 1 night stay in a sea view double. The surfaces of the old furniture in the room were sticky/grubby. TV did not work and staff were not able to help/very unhelpful. No hairdryer in the room as described. Shower ineffective and old/full of limescale. Lots of local druggy people hung around the area/outside hotel so did not feel safe at all.(class A druggies) Woken in the night to a fight outside on the street. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY HERE!! £66 totally wasted. Hope this review helps you to make your mind up. (£17.50 parking outside hotel) I informed staff of issues at check out and was reassured the Manager would contact me later that day. No contact was made.

The hotel is clean , good ubicación, just metros in front the sea .Excellent and helpful staff.

The room was awfull very small.. with a sink in the room. Couldn’t open the window and it was very uncomfortable. The hallway had steps and this room was on 4th floor without any lift. We cut short our trip by one night as the room was digressing. Not recommending.

Pleasant stay

The apartment was very clean and cozy andnthere was an amazing view from the window

The hotel itself was passable, however we couldn’t sleep at night due to what sounded like a brawl downstairs. Someone tried our door, there was blood on the walls outside in the morning and broken glass. The shower was caked in limescale so didn’t work very well. Due to the fight we were afraid to leave our room so couldn’t go to the toilet in the night.
