Booked this hotel for a minibreak at the end of half term with partner and 6 year old. Chose this hotel for its location, swimming pool and that breakfast was included. This is a typical English seaside hotel which is dated and somewhat unloved. We loved the swimming pool which little one thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was a choice of Full English or some cereals which again was a fair selection. There is no dinner served as they refurb the kitchen but they didn't mind us having fish and chips in the bar area. All in all, good hotel for the price paid. Excellent location for easy access to beach as well as town centre.

I found the staff rude, none of them had English as their first language which makes it even more frustrating when there's odd requests like taking down debit card details in case I 'start breaking windows and doors'. Asbestos warning stickers in corridors are a bit alarming, as is the black mould in the rooms. Carpets are worn out, floorboards creek, the car park is £12, nothing remotely healthy for breakfast aside from possibly a yoghurt. Certainly no fresh juice or fruit or a healthier alternative to butter! There's nothing to recommend this hotel.

Car park is a nightmare if you go when they have party at hotel and because hotel is near to city center it’s very difficult to find parking. The hotel needs refurbishing but still not too bad to stay for 1 or 2 days. Rooms are very hot and there is no thermostat or anything that you could manage temperature. Staff in reception need to train how dealing with customers and be more effective. But if you need to stay just somewhere near beach and just sleep at nights for a middle price hotel it would be okay. Breakfast is okay and you have coffee and kettle in rooms.

Shocking stay, I never slept all night! then to add insult to injury I was charged £12 for parking, I did try to find accomodation at another hotel in the same road, however they were full, I felt dirty when I came away from the hotel, I showered at a friends before my drive home. I asked for a refund but they told me I would have to wait till Monday, today is Friday and I still haven't heard anything.

I have stayed here several times in the past and at present will not be returning. The booking process was going well which was a relief due to a trouble journey due to the weather, that was until a member of the "family" arrived and talked straight over the top of the gent booking us in. Then we went to the room and again all was well until the person above us decided to have a shower at 10pm, which resulted in water coming through the ceiling. resulting in our bathroom becoming dangerous due to the wet floor. Then at 10.30 another person decided to have a shower and the result was worse, so we got dressed and went to reception to report this, we were offered another room. However this wasn't suitable due to all the clothes etc that we had unpacked. Then the following day due to the complete LACK of sleep as the window also wouldn't shut tight banged with the wind, poor !!!!. I decided that i would drive back to Nottingham with my daughter, because if i had another night like i had, had it would have been dangerous for me to drive, due to being SO SO tired. As we booked out the gent on reception became quite forceful in the aspect that i really should stay and that i should have booked out in the morning, lets get this clear i have payed for 2x nights and i can decide to leave early if i want. It was requested by my husband for a part refund only to be spoken too like i was stupid. NOT A GOOD TIME WAS HAD,STAFF not professional nor understanding to my needs

Overall ok but the windows were thin as ice, you can hear absolutely everything going on outside. Constant banging and voices from the street. The wind noise felt like the windows were actually open.

It was an overnite stay to visit the Christmas markets and shops. It was ok for somewhere to sleep for the nite, bed was clean, bathroom was clean, there were some bin webs and room was a little dated but had a newish bathroom. It was ok and good value for money. I wouldn’t expect to pay over £60 for a double room for the nite and I felt brekki should have been included

we stay at the Trouville twice a year and accept it for what it is, cheap and cheerful, a place to lay your head after a day at the Christmas market. this time however the breakfast was such a debacle we will not eat there again. we were told it was buffet, but there were only rather old bacon and eggs in the hot plate. We asked for extra items and were told it would be 10 minutes. About half an hour later, we asked for it to go, to be told it was nearly ready and they didn't have a box. We got 3 times the food we asked for, inedible mushrooms beans came another 5 minutes later and were cold. I was dumping the key and not saying anything when the guy on reception, who was involved in the restaurant, asked how our stay was. he explained they had had a large group in and had only offered them a continental! there were dirty tables all over the restaurant.

Budget hotel for budget price - what else can you expect Hotel mostly clean but everything very tired and worn. I went for a swim in the morning and the lights in the pool were broken so swam in the dark (only a bit of natural light from glass bricks to outside) Bed as quite hard but i stept quite well. Didnt have breakfast so cant comment on food.

Nice staff, TV worked. Location great. Decor is very old fashioned making the rooms look very run down. Pool is run down. Walls paper thin and could hear night life through windows. Beds basic so not comfortable (pillows and quilt very thin) - all leading to a bad night sleep. Served it’s purpose to some degree, but not very comfortable. Chosen because cheapest I found in that location so worth the money if cheap. Wouldn’t use again.

Overall good experience and nice looking/good facilities. However our room was not completely clean. There were orange stains on the duvet and pillows (on the covers as well as the actual pillows) and red on the sheets, stains on carpet and dirty windows and windowsill which when condensated had orange drips coming down. Only other annoyance was trying to enter the hotel later at night, we had to wait 15 mins for someone to let us in when supposed to be 24hr service. Other than that nice stay and close to shops, restaurants and beach so very convenient for the price.

The oldest dirtiest curtains, thread bare carpet, old mattress. Old battered decor. Old worn out furniture. Clean bathroom, and clean bed linen. The lady on reception was great, efficient and welcoming I paid a budget price, so it is what it is, not complaining
