Hilton Addis Ababa

Nice old hotel... However for the price specially in Addis you expect the hot water should run without interruptions.

Hotwater went out a couple of times. Bedroom furniture is old and in disrepair. The staff is very friendly and helpfull.

Arrived to find the room that we had reserved wasn't ready or had been given to someone else it wasn't clear. We were told our new room would have a view of the pool - it did not we looked onto a building site. Then our door wouldn't open and it took 90 minutes to fix. We were given a bowl of fruit and a bottle of Ethiopian wine as an apology.

The grounds are beautiful but i didn't like the fact that the rooms are old and dated and the bathrooms were just nasty. I had to upgrade to the duplex and even that had problems

During our recent stay at the Hilton, we had an exceptional experience. The hotel's service, amenities, and overall atmosphere truly reflected the prestigious reputation that comes with its name. We were happy with every aspect of our stay.

Always an excellent stay at this hotel. Staff are always so helpful and efficient, rooms are clean and nice and always vegan options on all menus.

The staff was incredible! They were super nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. The bedding, towels, and hotel location were also excellent. There are many amenities, but they were a bit dated and could be cleaner. Would highly recommend avoiding the food at the hotel.

I reported getting ill after eating at the restaurant and the Front Desk almost made fun of it. I felt very offended by their poor attitude.

Food options are severely limited and executed poorly. From room service to the pool restaurant, or the buffet, the food quality is low and the hygiene very questionable.

Hygiene levels at the restaurants are poor. I got severally ill after eating at their buffet restaurant. I reported it to management but they totally ignored me.

The hotel is not kept well and it is rather dirty. The hygiene levels at the two restaurants is simply not good. Food choices are extremely limited and poorly executed.

After staying at this hotel for eight weeks uninterruptedly, on check out day, the front office summons me to vacate the room at 12 noon. They did not even have the minimum courtesy to let me and my daughter check out at 2pm. I am flabbergasted my their lack of hospitality and rudeness. I do not recommend. Beware.

The rooms need renovation. Bring them to today’s standard. Poor choices for dinning

The staff is truly amazing- very helpful and courteous.I enjoyed the variety of breakfast served at the buffet.Loved the pastry at the cafe within the vicinity of the hotel- the TIramisu was my favorite.The traditional huts/ cottages by the swimming pool is a nice place to sit and enjoy some draft beer.The garden past the pool is my little heaven.

average hotel at high price

I sincerely have bothering positive to say about this hotel: - the place is very old and and is in desperate need of a remodel - there’s a smell throughout the hotel and especially in the room I was staying in. - the sauna has molds everywhere. Anyone has access to the spa and the pool; so it not just for guests. That, in my opinion, significantly eroded and depreciated the place. I couldn’t find any of the facilities they offer attractive. - when you call the reception for a question you may have , sometimes they don’t even answer the calls. It will just continuously ring. That happened to me during daytime and also in the evening (before 7pm) - the hotel has an airport shuttle; but you need to pay $15 for that. Not sure if that exists elsewhere; but I’ve never encountered this in the past. More importantly, at the time I was booking it was not made clear to me that this is a paying airport shuttle. By the way, one can easily get a taxi for less than half the price the hotel proposes. And there are many other hotels in the city that offer free airport shuttles. Overall, it was a very unpleasant stay. This hotel is nowhere near the level of other Hiltons you probably stayed in. Unfortunately the price does not reflect that.

Was there for a business trip and had a problem with the hotel it is very old and in terrible need of upgrade it is very dirty and the service is terrible. The grounds are in need of updating and the pool was like a public pool with all of the city swimming in it it was gross! I had a problem with the management of the hotel as they promised me a refund of an overbooked night but then after I arrived home they took it away. I would avoid this property as it is old and dated and management is greedy and dishonest

Comfort, hospitality, and beautiful weather

The place may have the Hilton name on it, but it is nothing compared to Hilton's. They should change the name to Motel 6. It was so old and nothing up to par or repaired. The air conditioner did not work. The furniture was original form the 1960's when it was built. Please stay some where else. There are so many nice places in Addis. The one good thing was the pool and fitness room. However, that was even to crowded because it is not only for guests all community people come to use the fitness center and the pool. The locker rooms were full of fungus and I didn't even dare walk around. The smell was terrible. I can't believe that Hilton allows the name to stay on the building.
