Disney Sequoia Lodge

Disappointing stay. We stayed one night as an add on following a stay at Hotel New York (to maximise our park tickets). We were aware that the hotel is due a renovation, however it did not live up to the standards expected for the ‘Golden Forest’. Hotel is vast and number of lifts insufficient for number of rooms. Cosmetically a major overhaul is required. Room itself was very dark and dirty in places. The tea spoons in coffee machine had not been replaced from previous guest use. The curtains were held together with a bulldog clip. The handle to one of the drawers was falling off. Room (and corridor) had a very unpleasant odour and we were awoken by the sound of hoovering at 2am. We visited the club room but it was very dark and it was unclear what was included ie drinks. We tried to visit the pool and gave up as it was over filled and insufficient in size for vastness of hotel. On a positive note, the staff we encountered were very friendly and luggage transferred from one Disney hotel to the other with ease. Unfortunately, would not consider this hotel 3*. Even with a renovation we would be highly unlikely to stay again.

There was no air flowing in our room and the maintenance technician could not have been less interested. The bathroom sorely needed updating. The check-in process was quite cumbersome. The location was great, but the food available in Disney Village and in the parks was expensive and awful. I have visited multiple Disney properties in the US and this one was nowhere near their standards.

Location is great to the Disney Village and parks. I think some rooms have been refurbished but not ours. Carpets definitely need a thorough vacuum and steam cleaning. For a Disney property and the $, I was disappointed in the overall condition of the room and property. Especially in comparison to Disney hotels in America - including value resorts in Florida are maintained much better. And Sequoia is not a value resort. Ice machine on our floor did not work.

Had a great stay here with beautiful grounds & it’s close proximity to the parks. Our personal highlight with this hotel was the pool. Our 6 year old enjoyed the kids activity area. The only downside was the room which was very dated & had very limited, basic facilities within. But it was very clean and well kept as you’d expect from Disney. But a refurbishment to the rooms is needed. Overall we enjoyed our stay & would visit again.

Cleanliness and overall condition of property was not great if you are use to USA Disney properties. Room was old, chipped and worn surfaces, safe did not work, bathtub drain did not work. The value was not worthy of Disney name or cost.

Disney Sequoia location was good and the shuttle service was helpful though we found the path out the back entrance more convenient. The room was ok. Two queen beds. The bathroom needed help. The toilet flushed minimally and there was no body wash or shower gel. The shower hose had a leaking spray were it shouldn’t have been. Hard small towels were supplied. Room service was nice and quick when I requested the body wash and more hangars. The breakfast was the same every day which was disappointing. The pool was nice and comfortable with the hot heat we had BUT the hot tub was colder than the pool and had cold water coming out of the jets. Very disappointing.

The cast members at reception and in the parks were very helpful and nice. The pool (the only ammenity at the resort; without pool activities & games) was only open certain days and times. The room towels were very thin and one had a large hole in it. There is one elevator to take you from the Disney Village, parks, or train area uo to reception and room elevators. It is so small only one disabled person, or stroller, or 2 people with luggage can fit at a time. As I am disabled, this made it very hard when the parks close & everyone needs it at the same time. Minnie Mouse showed uo mid morning, which was very cool. The bar has a menu, but know the kitchen closes at 11pm so no HOT food after that. You cannot bring food i to the patks like you can in Florida or California. My biggeat complaint is with self laundry. For all 8 of the Disney resorts there are 2 washers & 2 dryers to share with ALL RESORT GUESTS. It's a 15 minutes walk to get to it. Then we waited in line 40 minutes for the next available machine & we needed 2. One of the dryers ate our token and there is no one to get help; you can't leave to get help or someone will come also needing to use the laundry. So many guests came and went wanting to use them during our 3 hours waiting, washing, drying & folding. They do have valet laundry service but it ranges per item between 2€ & 19+€. Too expensive to wash 5 days of clothes for 2 people.

The pictures of this hotel do not do this place justice. We stayed in July right at the start of the summer holidays. The hotel is situated a short walk from both the village and the parks. As someone who has visited disneyland Paris frequently and has even been an annual pass member I have never stayed in one of the main onsite Disney hotels (previous stays have been dream castle, magic circus, village nature and Davy Crockett) for us as a family of four his has been a game changer for location just to be able to come back to the hotel for a few hours in the hotter part of the day even outranks the ease of a Florida Disney park and we will definitely stay again.

We stayed in a golden forest room that didn’t have adaquate ac. Room never got cooler than 28 degrees. We complained and they told us it was working correctly and gave us a fan. Complained again and they told us this was all they could do. I slept under damp towels in order to try and keep cool and get some rest. It was an incredibly expensive let down and greatly impacted my enjoyment of the park. I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay here.

Amazing, better than USA

We have loved our stay at Sequoia Lodge and would stay again. Yes the rooms are dated but they are getting refurbished now so that will soon be sorted. Our air con was great, the room was large and had a view over the lake (room 3130) We would happily stay again and to be honest I prefer the hotel more than Newport Bay!

Nice hotel but was disappointed at the lack of gluten free food. They had taken the time to clearly label everything that was vegan but didn’t bother to label gluten. I did get given a book in French which was difficult to understand. Ended up getting glutened so ended up with a rash, swollen stomach and digestion issues for the holiday. It’s a shame as it’s a nice hotel and in Disney Florida they are very knowledgeable about allergies and they cater for this, they even offer gluten free Mickey waffles. But not here sadly.

Maybe it was me expecting the full Disney experience in a hotel but it fell a little short. Hotel felt slightly dated and in need of a bit of tlc. Still in a great location and still a Disney hotel, just not what it was for me.

Good value Especially because of the extra time in the morning for the parcs And the distance to the parcs

Nice property. Not as Disney themed as properties in other countries. No mini fridge to store waters.

Our room 2116 was very dated. On enterting the room a strong musty odour was present, chips out of tv surround wood work, peeling to wallpaper border and toilet was stained. The beds were clean and very comfortable so as we were only staying one night we accepted the room as it was. If it was a longer stay I would have asked to be moved room.

Overall a lovely stay. Staff were helpful in the hotel. However we had an issue with the air conditioning and a delay in collecting our bags.

A wonderful Disney hotel where the magic begins even before you enter the parks! The indoor and outdoor pools were a huge hit with our kids, especially during the hot summer days. We also loved dining at Hunters Grill, which offers an excellent buffet selection for both breakfast and dinner. The location is fantastic—about a 10-minute walk to Disneyland and even closer to Disney Village. The complimentary shuttle service is another great convenience. One important note for families: the room occupancy information on Expedia can be a bit misleading. While it states that children are welcome, a family can only stay in one room if there are four guests, or if the third child is under 3 years old. If you are a family of five and your youngest child is older than 3, you will be required to book an additional room. This detail is not clearly explained during the booking process, and I think it's important for families with three or more children to be aware of it before booking. Unfortunately, we had to make last-minute arrangements for one member of our family, which was disappointing and added unnecessary stress to our trip. Just be sure to double-check the occupancy rules if you're traveling with three or more children.

We stayed during a heat wave and the air-conditioning and ice machines couldn't cope. Apparently it is being renovated which it needs. Our bathroom plugs didn't plug, the bathroom door didn't fully close . However, we weren't visiting to stay in a hotel so none of this really mattered. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We couldn't book a reservation for food but it was not an issue as we ate at the parks. For what you need, its fine.
