La Truffe Noire

This was a good option for a base when visiting the region. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, if a little strangely designed. A lack of sensible plug sockets (we had to boil the kettle on the floor!) and the water from the shower went everywhere because there is no shower tray - yet is not a wet room! We found parking stressful, we arrived late at night and found no spaces free thanks to inconsiderate parking from guests, the hotel would do well to mark acual spaces. We did squeeze our tiny car alongside the bins for overnight, and then after heading out early could not get a space at any other time during our stay. The night porter did help us at one point by explaining that the street parking would be ok overnight as long as we moved again by 8am. Given that we were on a three week road trip we had a very full car and this wasn't ideal. We would have liked to try the restaurant but couldn't as they seemed to stop serving earlier than advertised. We were told it was 'fully booked' at around 8pm despite lots of empty tables, we think they just didn't like that we hadn't pre booked. All in all this hotel was good enough and comfortable for a short stay and maybe better if you are less busy and have less luggage, but for us it just has a few fracture points that in all probability would not encourage us to stay again. The town is charming and we found good options for both breakfast and later dinners, just don't go out too late as the options dwindle.

Very convenient central location, very good hotel ideal to visit Old town Brive, not luxurious but excellent on all fronts by Europe standards.

Very lovely hotel in the center of Brive. Large, well designed rooms. And very clean.

Chambre spacieuse, propre et tres calme.Tres bonne literie. Petit dejeuner varié, avec des produits locaux et de grandes qualité notament les yaourts les rocamadours et mention speciale aux cakes préparés par le chef notamment celui aux noix, un délice. Un établissement de qualité a recommander

Chambre propre, décoré avec goût. Personnel accueillant, à l'écoute. Force de proposition et solution de restauration alors qu'il y avait une coupure générale sur Brive-la-Gaillarde.

Great hotel for a short stop on a long roadtrip through France. They were very communicative and the hotel had everything we needed. Really great that they accept pets!

C est la 2eme fois que je viens passer une nuit dans cet hotel et je ne suis jamais déçue. Le personnel est souriant, aimable et servible. Les chambres sont tres belles et confortables. Du pur bonheur. Plateau de courtoisie bien appreciable pour la tisane du soir ou le café dunmatin avant la route. Petite frigo avec eau fraiche..merci de cette attention. Bon.petot dejeuner. J y retournerai l an.prochain c est sûr..
