Novotel Amboise

A nice large room and good location , but need a car to access town Center

Very nice hotel. Modern, large room, plenty of storage. Comfortable bed & good quality linen.

The staff were amazing. A special shout out to Louise at the front desk who went well above and beyond her duties to help us. The hotel was clean and comfortable. They assisted us in getting taxis to town, which are sometimes hard to come by. Overall an excellent stay and I highly recommend them.

Horrible stay!! Room didnt have a working A/c we had to change room in middle of the night but had the same issue there aswell. House keeping staff taking things from your room and when asked if they found or have something they said nothing we have in possession. This kind of behavior and service is not acceptable.

The front desk staff were awesome. Especially the young lady that helped my wife find a chiropractor.

Very nice hotel with excellent facilities, pool etc. Great breakfast and good dinner menu. Our experience spoilt at dinner when the " Canette" ie duckling" arrived overdone, dry, and inedible, instead of pink and moist. Returned the dish untouched. At check-out found that the untouched, returned dish was still charged for, but with a 30% reduction. Complained, but manager defended the dish ,aggressively, saying that was how they always served the dish---badly in my opinion. Conclusion--will not eat at this hotel chain in future.

The staff were really welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The service we received at the bar in the evening and at breakfast was great. We didn't get to use the pool but it looked great. Will definitely stay again when next passing by.

No surprises. Just an okay hotel.

Buses of tourists

Very nice property in the outskirts of Amboise. You´ll need a car or taxi to get to the center, but we had a car, so it was very convenient, just 10´ away from city center. Nice, clean, big rooms, nice reception staff ready to help.

This was a great stay during our visit to the Loire valley. Very clean, the staff was super attentive and accommodating, the buffet breakfast was excellent, very satisfied!

The Novotel is good. Very helpful staffs.

Many good points but they were subsumed by my wife having the worst steak that she ever has had in her life.Virtually inedible and tough whereas my pork filet was really good.

We stayed one night as part of a longer road trip. It was quite convenient for our needs, and the staff was friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet was okay but a little picked over by the time we ate at 7:30 am as there was a tour group or two staying at the hotel as well.

On arrival after 7 hours in the car, hugely disappointed to be told by reception (very cheerily) that the restaurant was fully booked and there was no room service. No food anywhere, even at the bar. Luckily I had a bag of crisps in the car which I managed to turn into dinner. Reception could have mentioned eg ubereats or some other options (and I should have asked). Staff at the bar were responsive despite being very overworked. Huge gash in the desk in the room, wasn’t expecting that! Room was ok although the a/c hardly functioned. They say they have a/c but I wouldn’t agree. Swimming pool nice but crowded and small. If I had realised how isolated this hotel is, I would have gone elsewhere.

For the last 2 nights I was at Novotel Amboise - and regretted choosing it. The restaurant was closed, my room faced directly onto the pool and the outdoor dining area, so no sleep before midnight. The bed was comfortable but that was about it. I had booked into the Orleans Novotel but they messaged me that they were under renovation - so the carpark, the bar, the swimming pool, the restaurant were all closed. Not sure what was left open, so moved to the other Novotel in Orleans South, miles from anywhere. A mistake - the rooms are small and dark, the place is full of noisy families - right now 4 children are using the corridor outside my room as a racetrack while the parents look on benignly and wont do anything about it. The restaurant was full of squalling children. I have cut my stay and am moving somewhere else. Avoid at all costs.
