Fosshotel was clean and comfortable. We rented two rooms for one night. The staff accommodated us on our late arrival. After staying in several larger cabin-type accommodations, this felt very small, but in reality, it was the size of small hotel room. We had everything that we needed. We arrived late and left early, so we did not explore the area much, but the views from our balconies were breath-taking. Just stunning! We would definitely stay again!

Superb. Stayed just for one night of 16 in Iceland. Recommended by our daughter, as she had stayed there in 2022. Excellent room on first floor, with a balcony and overlooking the fjord. Amazing view from the room.....once the mist had lifted. The room decor and fittings were exceptional and I particularly liked the solid wooden floor. The history of the building was very interesting, this coupled with the historic exhibits. Really peaceful with an ambience that made us want to stay longer. One of the best hotels I have visited.

Tucked away from the Ring Road, a set of 4 historic buildings make up this hotel. Outside the window are majestic snow-capped mountain peaks. A small babbling creek flows between the buildings. Wallpapered room and period decor take you back to a simpler time. Staff was friendly at check in. Parking is available but spread out into smaller lots.

Charming hotel in a beautiful and peaceful fjord setting. The historic character of the building combined with modern comfort made our stay very special. The rooms were clean and cozy, the staff were kind and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. Our room wasn’t at the front building if you are lucky enough to have a room there you can enjoy the view. Parking was easy and free. The surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning, especially in the morning. A perfect place to relax while exploring East Iceland. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Invited upon checkin to see the Museum regarding French fishing history housed in the building..was excellent! Room facing the fjord had small deck with chairs, was lovely to have a chance to sit right by water. Bed, bathroom, all excellent. Parking very near door. Did not have breakfast, price seemed high. Front desk not manned it a.m., supposed to find staff in dining area in another building to give key, no one there, finally knocked on back door to be able to hand key over. No problem really tho. A very nice place to spend our evening.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was wonderful! friendly, helpful, and quick to make things right. The hotel itself was spotless, and the rooms had excellent blackout curtains, which is so important in Iceland during summer. The only hiccup was with our room booking. We had reserved one room with three beds, but when we arrived they said it was only booked for one bed. I showed my confirmation, and it seemed to be a mix-up on their end with a double booking. They upgraded us to two separate bedrooms with queen beds, which was very comfortable. However, the following night they moved us again into a room with three beds once it became available. Switching rooms two nights in a row was a little inconvenient, but they were apologetic and made up for it with a complimentary meal and discounts on food and drinks. Overall, it was a lovely stay with just that one bit of hassle at the start.
