As a vegan, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, even cooking in a separate kitchen. The service and staff are just incredible. Thank you for making our holiday so incredible.

The ambiance, location, cleanliness, comfort, and friendliness of the staff are undeniable. I once lost my debit card while exercising on the Sanur beachfront path. I reported it to the receptionist. Shortly afterward, the hotelier informed me that the card had been found and could be retrieved at the front office. What a service!!! Thank you Hyatt family for your hospitality, and you guys have a great service! ❤️

Overview of Hyatt Regency Bali

Walk into the open-air lobby of Hyatt Regency Bali and the first thing you notice is the roof: a rustic thatched alang-alang (elephant grass) canopy, remodelled to echo the property's original design and expanded so that guests get wider views across the gardens towards the Indian Ocean. That roof is a deliberate link to the past. The resort operated for around 45 years as the Bali Hyatt, then closed for a five-year revitalisation before reopening under the Hyatt Regency name on 20 December 2018, according to Hyatt's own announcement of the reopening.

The setting is the other half of the story. The resort is spread across more than 22 acres of land on what Hyatt describes as the area's widest beachfront, with tropical gardens designed by the landscape artist Made Wijaya and featuring more than 500 plant species. Local materials and traditional craftsmanship run through the interiors, including hammered copper, rattan, bamboo, batik printing blocks and repurposed Balinese wood and stone carvings.

Traveloka lists Hyatt Regency Bali as a 5-star resort at Jalan Danau Tamblingan 89 in Sanur, on Bali's south-east coast, with 363 rooms spread over four floors. It is a large, full-service resort rather than a boutique hideaway, which means plenty of space for families, couples, wedding parties and conference groups to share the grounds without feeling crowded. Its low-rise layout keeps the buildings below the treeline, so the gardens rather than the architecture set the tone.

Room Types at Hyatt Regency Bali

All 363 rooms at Hyatt Regency Bali sit within the resort's low-rise wings, and Hyatt gives the overall room size range as roughly 290 to 871 sq ft (about 27 to 81 square metres). Traveloka's listing does not break the inventory down into named tiers, so the exact categories, views and bed configurations on offer for your dates are best checked in the room selector on the property page.

Guest Rooms

The majority of the inventory is made up of guest rooms rather than suites. Traveloka lists the property as having air conditioning and non-smoking rooms, and the resort's general facility list includes terraces. Rooms typically include air conditioning and a private bathroom; for per-room amenities such as bed type, bathtub or view, see the individual room cards on the listing before you book, as these vary between categories.

One-Bedroom Suites

According to Hyatt, the resort has 39 one-bedroom suites of up to 753 sq ft (around 70 square metres). Each suite has a separate living room, and Hyatt describes them as having spacious balconies. The suites suit guests who want a distinct lounge area for longer stays, honeymooners who prefer extra room, or parents who want a little separation from children in the evening.

Regency Club Access

Hyatt Regency Bali has a Regency Club Lounge. Hyatt states that lounge access includes a private concierge, complimentary breakfast, all-day snacks, and evening cocktails and canapés. Club access is tied to specific room types or rates, so check the inclusions shown on each room option on Traveloka rather than assuming every booking carries it.

Family and Accessible Rooms

Traveloka lists family rooms at the property, along with accessibility features including an accessible bathroom, accessible parking and wheelchair access, and describes the resort as disabled-access friendly. If you need a particular configuration, such as a room close to the lift or on the ground floor, it is worth adding a special request after booking and confirming with the resort directly.

Facilities and Amenities

The pool area is the centrepiece of Hyatt Regency Bali's leisure offer. Hyatt describes three pools: a lap pool, a children's pool, and a main pool surrounded by overhanging bougainvillea, where guests can swim through a replica of Goa Gajah, the 9th-century "elephant cave" temple near Ubud, carved out of volcanic rock. Traveloka's listing also records a waterslide, beach towels and a private beach.

Spa and Fitness

Shankha Spa is the resort's wellness space. Hyatt describes it as having ten spa suites, treatment and relaxation areas, a yoga studio, a juice bar, and hot and cold plunge pools. The fitness centre, which Hyatt says is open 24 hours a day, has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the grounds.

Sports and Recreation

  • Courts and games: an outdoor tennis court, beach volleyball, badminton and mini golf, all listed on Traveloka.
  • Getting around: bicycle rental is available, which suits Sanur's flat seafront.
  • Gardens: a garden and terrace areas spread through the 22-acre grounds.

For Families

Children are well catered for. Camp Hyatt, the kids' club, has an outdoor playground, an indoor playroom and daily cultural activities, according to Hyatt. Traveloka additionally lists a children's play area, supervised childcare and babysitting (with a surcharge).

Meetings, Weddings and Services

For events, Hyatt lists a 5,037 sq ft ballroom for up to 600 guests, four multifunctional spaces of between 1,000 and 3,487 sq ft for 25 to 150 guests, and a 2,583 sq ft courtyard for up to 120 guests. Traveloka also records a business centre, conference room, banquet facilities and a wedding service.

  • Front desk and security: a 24-hour receptionist and 24-hour security.
  • Guest services: concierge, bellhop, luggage storage, laundry service, money changer, tours, multilingual staff and a medical service.
  • Connectivity: WiFi in public areas and LAN internet.
  • Parking: secure parking and valet parking; parking is listed as chargeable.
  • Other: a safety deposit box at the property.

Location and Getting There

Hyatt Regency Bali's address is Jalan Danau Tamblingan 89, Sanur, Bali 80228. Hyatt describes the resort as centrally located in Sanur, and its beachfront position puts the sand and the sea a short stroll from the rooms. Sanur sits on Bali's south-eastern coastline, and its calmer, family-oriented pace is a contrast to the busier beach towns further west.

Hyatt gives the drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport as about 22 minutes, though Bali traffic can stretch that considerably at peak times, so allow extra time for a departing flight. Travellers from Singapore arrive through the same airport; to time your trip, you can compare flights to Bali on Traveloka and match your arrival to the resort's 15:00 check-in.

  • Airport transfer: Traveloka lists an airport transfer service. Charges apply, so confirm the arrangement with the property before you land.
  • Neighbouring property: Andaz Bali, another Hyatt resort, sits on the same street at Jalan Danau Tamblingan 89a.
  • Nearby conveniences: Traveloka lists shops, a supermarket, grocery stores, ATMs and banking, hair and beauty salons and laundry facilities in the vicinity.
  • Getting around: the resort offers bicycle rental for exploring the local area at an easy pace.

The real Goa Gajah temple that inspired the resort's pool lies near Ubud in central Bali, which makes a natural day trip once you have settled in.

Dining at Hyatt Regency Bali

Dining at Hyatt Regency Bali centres on three named outlets described by Hyatt when the resort reopened:

  • Omang Omang: the all-day dining venue, serving Indonesian and global comfort food.
  • Pizzeria: a casual spot for pasta, wood-fired pizzas and Italian sodas.
  • Piano Lounge: a lounge with live music, gamelan during the day and piano in the evening, plus an afternoon tea service.

Outlet names and opening hours can change over time, so check the latest line-up with the resort during your stay. Traveloka's listing records a bar, room service, a breakfast restaurant and restaurant service for lunch and dinner. Meal formats listed include a buffet breakfast, a continental breakfast, à la carte and set-menu lunches, and à la carte and set-menu dinners.

Breakfast is listed on Traveloka both as a facility and as a surcharge item, which means it is included with some rates and charged separately on others. Look for the breakfast label on each room option before you confirm, particularly if you are booking for a family. Guests with Regency Club access have breakfast in the lounge as part of the club benefits described by Hyatt.

Away from the resort, Sanur has its own dining scene along the seafront and the main road. If you want to round out your trip with cooking classes, food tours or island excursions, you can browse things to do around Bali on Traveloka.

Why Stay at Hyatt Regency Bali

The strongest argument for Hyatt Regency Bali is how much heritage it carries into a modern resort. You are staying somewhere that welcomed guests as the Bali Hyatt for around four and a half decades, and the reopened resort keeps that identity visible through the thatched alang-alang lobby, the Made Wijaya gardens and the use of local craft in its interiors.

  • Space to spread out: more than 22 acres of grounds on a wide beachfront, with over 500 plant species in the gardens.
  • Pools for every mood: a lap pool for exercise, a children's pool, and a main pool with a swim-through volcanic rock replica of Goa Gajah.
  • A genuine wellness offer: Shankha Spa's ten suites, yoga studio and plunge pools, plus a fitness centre that Hyatt says runs 24 hours.
  • Family-ready: Camp Hyatt, a waterslide, a children's play area, supervised childcare and family rooms.
  • Event capability: a ballroom for up to 600 guests, a garden courtyard and a wedding service.

It suits multi-generational families who want a single resort with something for everyone, couples looking for Sanur's slower rhythm, and groups planning a beach wedding or offsite. If you want to weigh it against other options before deciding, you can compare more hotels in Bali on Traveloka.

Tips for Booking Hyatt Regency Bali on Traveloka

  1. Check the breakfast label: breakfast is a surcharge on some rates, so compare room-only and breakfast-included options side by side.
  2. Plan around the times: check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is until 12:00. For an early arrival, the 24-hour front desk and luggage storage let you drop bags and head to the beach.
  3. Decide whether club access matters: if Regency Club Lounge benefits appeal, choose a room option that shows them in its inclusions.
  4. Book the suite early for longer stays: with only 39 one-bedroom suites in a 363-room resort, they make up only a small share of the resort's rooms.
  5. Arrange your airport transfer in advance: the transfer service carries a charge, so confirm pick-up details with the property after booking.
  6. Use special requests: note accessibility needs, connecting or family room preferences, or celebrations in the special request field.
  7. Review the cancellation terms: policies differ by rate, so read the conditions on your chosen room before paying.

Bali holidays often combine a beach base with time inland, so many travellers pair a stay here with a few nights in Ubud or the hills. When you are ready to put the whole trip together, start planning from the Traveloka homepage.

Loved our stay at the Hyatt Regency. The hotel has everything you need. The rooms are comfortable, although a little on the darker side because of the way the buildings are set out. We booked a club room - 1 king bed (deluxe) and had a nice view looking into the front gardens, with glimpses of the ocean through the trees. I believe the club option may not be worth booking, depending on what you’re looking for. The breakfast options and outlook of the main restaurant we thought were better than the club area, although the club area was less busy. The breakfast we had here was the best in Bali. The free evening drinks in the club area were extensive however at that time I’d prefer being closer to the beach for sunset and exploring other bars and restaurants. The pools were great for kids of all ages and the gym facilities were new and inviting. Staff were extremely friendly.

Really lovely resort on a nice clean beach. Room was excellent with a massive comfy bed, nice sofa bed on balcony and everything you’d need or want. They provided a lot of complimentary bottled water too. I was only here for one night so didn’t have time to experience a lot of the hotel facilities but the breakfast was great and pool/bar are very nice too. I hope to come back again for a longer stay.

My wife Anita and I have just spent the last 10 days at Hyatt Regency Bali celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and we truly could not have asked for a more memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, every staff member made us feel genuinely welcome with such warmth, kindness and professionalism. The team consistently went over and above to accommodate us and add to the value and enjoyment of our holiday. Nothing was ever too much trouble. What made our stay especially unforgettable were the thoughtful touches and care shown to us during our anniversary celebrations. The effort the staff put into making the occasion feel special meant so much to both of us and created memories we will always treasure. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning gardens, amazing facilities and such a relaxing atmosphere throughout. Every part of our stay reflected the genuine hospitality and high standards of Hyatt Regency Sanur Bali. Thank you to the entire team for helping make our 30th wedding anniversary so special. We will definitely return on our next visit to Bali.

The hotel is definitely a good option if you are looking for a hotel near the airport (only 30min away). It is a huge complex and it’s amazing to see how well it is managed. Staff was excellent although it don’t start well. In an American hotel chain I was told that they don’t have too many king size beds. Then I was told I’ve been upgraded to a larger room. Upon entering the room it was the same situation which I experience more frequently around the world. A room with facilities for handicapped guests is being presented as an ‚upgrade with more space‘. It was sorted out afterwards but it becomes more a nuisance that I have to mention it explicitly at checkin every time.

The location is so beautiful by the beach. The staff is wonderful, friendly, accomodating. Caring. I really felt taken care of. The breakfast staff were very accommodating with our gluten free needs. The tropical fruits were wonderful. The aqua fit was so fun and actually a work out. The massages were great. The bike ride was fun. The AC in the room was so needed as it does get hot. I drank cold coconuts by the pool every day, Delicious. And had great shrimp and chips by the pool. So friendly so sweet. Will miss this place a lot.
