I liked the resort's overall aesthetic. The property looked great. The room was comfortable. It was right on the beach which was great, plus had a number of pools including one with a swim-up bar. Customer service was decent as staff were pleasant enough. Some staff were nicer than others, but none were blatantly unapproachable. The drinks were great. Their greatest downfall is the food as it was very hit and miss, with more misses than hits.

From the last time I visited, the property they have done beautiful renovations. I lived everything about it. My view was outstanding.

Overall resort experience was extremely poor, the resort itself was okay it’s located on the beautiful Negril beach. As far as my experience goes, my check in time was set for 12pm, I arrived before 3pm and wasn’t given a room until after 4. The staff wasn’t helpful or knowledgeable at all. The iron provided for the room went out and I when contacted the receptionist I was told it was my responsibility to bring the iron to the front desk and put a cash deposit down in order to be able to use another (absurd). I then waited over 3 hours to receive the iron. There wasn’t a time I didn’t feel overcrowded. Dining areas/sitting is limited and the food was pretty basic. Additional eating options were advertised but wasn’t provided (continental breakfast hours). If you choose to shop in the gift stores they are extremely expensive. No exaggeration I paid $19USD for a regular pack of peanut m&ms and a can of Pringle’s , also $6USD for a standard lighter. Cleanliness was not a priority if you didn’t stay in the first two buildings as the shared areas were not up kept. Also, the walls are extremely thin with high traffic and noise. Negril Jamaica is a beautiful parish and I’m disappointed in RIU, by far one of the worst resorts I’ve stayed in.

Great friendly staff. Non stop variety of entertainment. Would like to see ice machine moved to middle floor at least. Maybe thought of room building elevator.

We just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our time at Riu Negril. In addition to being very happy place and filled with fun, tbe staff worked extremely hard and was always prepared. They continuously looking out for our safety. We could not possibly have had a better resort. Please pass along our sincere appreciation, and we will try to book our next stay with Riu again. By the way, this was our ninth time visiting Jamaica, first tome staying there. It will definitely not be our last time staying with Riu. We will look forward to next time.

Staff assistance during check out was poor. I was charged with 2 extra nights after checking out.

The staffs were welcoming and went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The property was very clean and my room had all the comforts I needed.

If you want to party and have fun this is not the place. It had no entertainment at night and very boaring. It is far from main attraction and every cab is 50 USD. Rediculous. The food was great!

I was pleased with how comfortable the bed was, it signalled how exhausted I felt. The only issue I had was with the food and liquor, the food was not great, flavour is nonexistent (I would dare say the chef can't cook), at least not for discerning caribbean taste buds. Staff excellent, special mention to Shantoy (housekeeping) for keeping my room clean and being personable, Oshin and Shanalee (entertainment and fitness) for showing me I need to exercise more and Deanette mgr of the Greenleaf for finding my water bottle and following up. Melissa of Renova Spa, thank you for that awesome massage. I thank you all for making my stay good. I will return if you fix the food part, to menit was thst bad. Mind you not all the items were flavorless, there were some.good aspects and yes there were options. My next vacay is around Thanksgiving I will watch the reviews for improvement in this area...and will likely take my own rum and coffee when I return, but I will return. Nice hotel and property. Another issue, the call center lied to me qhen I attempted to book by phone, they said they did not have rooms becaise I refised to tell them that O was calling from Jamaica. It sounds like you have an issue with locals going ro your property that you create gridlocks to prevent bookings.....be careful with that image.

Staff entertainment was the best of all time!!!!!

I booked this place as a birthday trip for my sister and my first time out of the US. We requested a double bed room was advised or selection was not something they could do nor was it an option available even when checking in on time. We requested room decorated for her birthday a week before arrival.. never happened… the app they require you to use only worked 5% of the time. Even the staff couldn’t open theirs when i asked them about it. They don’t offer room service. Don’t allow you to take food to your room. No elevator had to carry all out bags up 2 floors… the agents are RUDE and offer no solutions to any of your issues. Will never book here again. Made my first experience out of country horrible and didn’t meet any of the birthday things for my sister. I’m glad we met a tour guide on beach who made the rest of the stay enjoyable. We just slept and showered at resort. Horrible experience

Excellent resort. Staff were friendly and the entertainment was a great option for those who chose to participate.

The property is beautiful but there were a lot of rules that I hadn’t been used to in other all inclusive resorts.
