The hotel is nice, complete amenities are provided in the lobby, just take them yourself as needed 😁, the location is right next to the Oedo Line E 12 subway entrance, and across from the hotel there is a 7 eleven, you can see Skytree from the hotel, the environment is quiet and a bit deserted because it is not a tourist area but not far from Sensoji temple and Tokyo Skytree 😊

Good stay. No complains. Except maybe for coffee. They only provide tea. Friendly and helpful English speaking staff at reception. Convenient location. Right next to train station, Family Mart, and 7-Eleven. Great restaurants just a short walk away. Special mention for Ichikatsu Restaurant, family favorite katsu. The room was cleaned every day. AC and Wi-Fi were great. Beds were comfy. Rooms were a good size. The 2-bedded twin room for the kids was more spacious than our queen bedded one. Awesome view of the Tokyo Skytree and sprawling cityscape from the rooms. The ice dispenser at the common area was handy. Yay. Free shuttle to Disney. Book early. The free shuttle back to the hotel was at 9:45 p.m. Too late for us. We took the trains back. Tried 1 hotel breakfast. Decent, but there were better options outside. Directly opposite the hotel was a small cafe run by an elderly couple that served good coffee and breakfast toast/sandwiches. Sumida walking map at hotel lobby. Had a good early morning walk along the Sumida River to Ushijima Shrine, Tokyo Skytree Tower, and back for breakfast.

The front staff was very welcoming, amenities were very good, and the room service did a great job keeping our room clean. On top of that, the location itself is very convenient as it is near a beautiful park, multiple convenience stores, a whole lot of restaurants, and is right next to the train station. Would 100% book again

No doubt, the rooms are a little dated, but everything was so clean. Rooms are way bigger than most hotels in Tokyo as well. There are convenience stores and restaurants around the hotel as well which was extremely helpful. The train station (Oedo line) is just a minute’s walk away, right beside the hotel. Amenities are sufficient, but the variety is slightly lacking compared to others. That’s not an issue though. Staff were extremely helpful and kind.

Great Stay at Dai-ichi Hotel Ryogoku! I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient. There is a Toei station right next to the building, and the JR line is only about a 5-minute walk away. There are also plenty of local markets, drugstores, and convenience stores in the area, which made it easy to grab anything we needed. The hotel itself feels quite luxurious, and the room size is surprisingly large for Japan. The bathroom is also big and very comfortable, which made getting ready each day so much easier. Housekeeping came daily and kept everything clean and refreshed. Overall, a very comfortable and convenient stay. I would definitely return!

How to go to Daiichi Hotel Ryogoku from Airport

Navigating from the airport to Daiichi Hotel Ryogoku is a breeze with several convenient options. Whether you're looking for a quick hotel transfer or a budget-friendly route, Tokyo has you covered. Here's a breakdown of how to get from the airport to the hotel:
  • Taxi

(most direct): A taxi is the most straightforward way to reach the hotel. You can find taxi stands outside both Narita (NRT) and Haneda (HND) airports. Be prepared for a potentially higher fare, especially from Narita, due to the distance.
  • Limousine Bus

(comfortable and convenient): The Airport Limousine Bus offers a comfortable and direct transfer to many major hotels in Tokyo, including some near Ryogoku. Check the schedule and drop-off points to see if it's a convenient option for you.
  • Narita Express (N'EX) or Skyliner + Train

(faster train options): From Narita Airport, take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station, then transfer to the JR Sobu Line to Ryogoku Station. Alternatively, take the Skyliner to Nippori Station and transfer to the JR Yamanote Line to Akihabara, then change to the JR Sobu Line to Ryogoku.
  • Keikyu Line + Subway

  • Ride Hailing

Tips:

For the most convenient route, consider the Limousine Bus if it drops off near the hotel. If you're on a budget and coming from Haneda, the Keikyu Line + Subway is a good option. From Narita, the Narita Express or Skyliner combined with a local train offers a balance of speed and cost.

The room was very hot. It was about 27 degrees Celsius or about 81 degrees Fahrenheit the entire time we were there. Zero circulation. I saw some other rooms on my floor left their doors open to get some air circulation into their rooms to cool it. The hotel's central AC was set to "heat" so we couldn't control the temperature. Tried opening the "vent" at the window but no air flow. Had to go down and ask for fan. The person at the desk was rude when we asked. They brought up a tower fan eventually which hardly blew any air out, even at its highest setting. The worker said that's all they can do. Later on I examined the fan I saw the vents were caked with dust. I didn't want to deal with the rude customer service again so I resolved it myself. I had to unscrew the panel off and clean off all the dust on the filter in the bath tub myself. Once I did that, the fan finally blew out some air. Also some black mold under the rim of the sink. Beware when booking. Unless you enjoy staying in a poorly ventilated and very hot room.

Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Hotel scammed me by forcing me to pay a second time. I provided all receipts and proof of payment but they outright refused everything, said I did not pay. I had no other options at that point so I had to pay again. The desk lady was quite rude about it. The room was unbearably hot, the entire floor was set to 86°f. There is no way to control the temperature or anything, only a tiny window vent which did absolutely nothing. I didn’t sleep at all that night because just how hot it was. I tried to ask the desk staff if they could turn the heat down but I was rudely told “that’s how they like to keep it”. They gave me no options at all. I told them over and over it was so hot that i could not sleep! I was begging for anything, finally they said they’d bring a fan to my room. They brought the dirtiest, loudest fan they could find that kept shutting off every hour. It was either no sleep because of heat or no sleep because of a loud fan. What a miserable experience. Everything was just bad.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Daiichi Hotel in Ryogoku. The hotel was clean, tidy, and well-maintained throughout our visit. Although the staff didn’t speak a lot of English, they were incredibly helpful and friendly. When we mentioned that we prefer a colder room to sleep in, they quickly brought us a fan since the heating was on — a small gesture that made a big difference. The location is also a major plus. The hotel offers easy access to the underground metro and the nearby station, which made getting around Tokyo simple and convenient. Overall, a comfortable stay with thoughtful service in a great location. Would happily stay again!

The hotel was comfortable and generally clean, the bathroom floor could have been cleaner. I was hoping for the double bed away from the wall as it made it more difficult to get in and out of bed when it is shared - access from both sides of the bed would have been more convenient. The room was comfortable and wished it had more outlets with usb charging. Great location next to the train station and places to eat within walking distance. The seven eleven store next door was very handy. I did not like that we could not leave our luggage before check in time which meant I had to wait in the lobby until the official check in time. This was not great but could have been worse, as I only had to wait just under an hour. Other hotels accept your luggage and you can come back later for the official check in process and obtain your room key etc. but not this one as I was not the only one waiting in the lobby. Staff were professional and friendly as well.

Stained duvet cover and a dusty hygiene product tray in the bathroom A room refrigerator was not working, and it was smaller than a regular mini refrigerator. A room was spacious though. A view room on the 18th floor was unpleasantly warm by heat from too many vending machines running there. The microwave in the view room was very dirty. There is no self serve laundromat in the hotel, but there is a good access to subways.

The front staff was very welcoming, amenities were very good, and the room service did a great job keeping our room clean. On top of that, the location itself is very convenient as it is near a beautiful park, multiple convenience stores, a whole lot of restaurants, and is right next to the train station. Would 100% book again

Everything was great! Only thing that would need improving would be AC controls. Since we had no control, it was super hot in the room, which was uncomfortable for sleeping.

Right next to ryogoku station which is super convenient. Theres a 7/11 next door and a few 24hr laundromats nearby. About a 30-40 min subway from Shinjuku area depending on which route you take. 30 min subway/monorail from Haneda airport

The floors are dirty and the top sheet has stains. The remote for the lights were wonky and I couldn't switch it on easily. Otherwise everything else was average hotel. On the last day a huge cockroach crawled down the bathroom drain which was.. disgusting. But staff was nice and the resteraunt food was really good.
