Central to everything especially Nishiki market. Very close to Gion district. Everything is walkable . Beautiful and highly recommended hotel. My family and I enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely come back again. Staff were very respectful and accommodating. Rooms were clean.

A good-quality hotel in the very center of the city, next to the subway in what is, in fact, a fascinating neighborhood. Very good breakfast (though we did not eat it every day - would be too heavy, as one wants to try everything).

The maintenance of the property is not good at all. The first day of checking in was horrible as we waited in the rain for one hour without anybody telling us how to check in, second night the internet was down, the third night the door locker was out the battery and waited for one hour to have staff come in to solve the problem.

The hotel is beautiful close to train station. The rooms were so spacious and the beds were pretty comfortable. One huge disappointment was the lack of laundry facilities as the Expedia website indicated. We had arrived from Shibuya and had planned to do laundry at Monterey Kyoto Hotel but this not possible. My husband and I had to walk 6-8 blocks int he pouring rain to do laundry at a coin laundry. That was a burden to me and my family as we had no clean clothes for the rest of our trip!

Very nice property, room was very clean. I was ill and they allowed me to check in at no cost. They didn’t allow me to use the spa as I have tattoos, I understand it’s a cultural thing but I hope that changes some day.
