Sakura Terrace the Gallery was so good! We initially had booked a 4-night stay, but extended for an additional 3-nights! Although, the rates were different since the 3-nights added were last minute. The staff was able to let us stay in the same room, since both bookings were of the same size/ style room. Sakura "Terrace" is an open concept building. The hallway outside your rooms are exposed to outside elements. Our booking was March 5-12, 2026, and it was chilly. The rooms itself had Cooling, Fan, and Heater options, and we had plenty of floor space for a 19sqft twin bed room. All rooms has a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. As for amenities, espresso machine is available in the restaurant, or another coffee/ tea station by the lobby. Grind your own coffee, and drip pour old school style. Very cool imo. Free welcome-drink every day, alcoholic/ non-alcoholic. I believe it's one drink per day per guest? Great way to unwind after a long day. Free drink with live music. Plenty of space to sit on chairs or couch with fireplace. During cold season, blankets and layered jacket are provided, as well as heater fans/ toweres throughout the lobby. The Laundry and Public Bath is on the South Building. The use of washer and dryer is free of charge, but detergent is available for ¥100. While waiting for laundry, you can relax on 8 massage chairs they have, or have coffee/ herbal tea on chairs/ benches. Public bath is fairly small, and can get busy, but they have a sauna available. 10/10

Great location close to Kyoto station. Coffee/tea area in reception great. Welcome drink each night was a nice touch, and enjoying it while listening to live music. The hotel layout is interesting being open air - was very cold when we were there so the heaters and fire pits were great. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. An extra pillow would have been appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Room was solid. Pillows were too small for my taste. TV was small and had no international channel. There is not a real chair in the room. Storage space for clothes is very limited. One part of the room is lower so I almost fell down several times. The lobby is not enclosed and it has been very cold. There are a few seats by the fire but they are taken. Breakfast is really good, it costs around 20 US dollars, but if its full inside you have to wait outside the door in the freezing weather. The location is good, near the main train station, about two blocks away. At least one store is a block away from the hotel. The train station has an enormous number of stores and restaurants.

Breakfast was the highlight of the hotel for me. Although the evening food with live entertainment most nights was also welcome. Free coffee whenever wanted and a daily welcome drink were pluses

Very close to Kyoto station, the room was spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was very good, lots of variety and delicious food. I also enjoyed the open air layout of the hotel.
