As announced by Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Tourism Tax is imposed starting 1 January 2023 for all hotel guests that are non-Malaysian or non-permanent Residents of Malaysia. All guests are obliged to below house rules once your booking is confirmed. i. You may be required to present valid government-issued identification at check-in, along with credit card / cash to cover the incidentals and deposits. ii. All special request such as Early Check-In and Late Check-Out is not guaranteed and strongly subject to hotel’s availability. iii. Hotel may charge you additional fee for each extra person after reserves room’s maximum occupancy. Any availability of extra bed or baby crib is subject to hotel availability. iv. Additional fee such as extra bed, food and beverage, telephone, room service etc is handled directly between guest and hotel. v. Effective from June 1, 2014, the City Council of Penang will impose a Local Council Tax of MYR 3 per room per night for 4 and 5-star hotels, and MYR 2 per room per night for 0 to 3-star hotels. The star rating will be in accordance to the rating from Local Council and should the rating differ from the website, the local council rating will apply. This fee is being included in Hotel's Room Rate. vi. With effect from 01 September 2017, with reference to the Law of Malaysia Act 791, Tourism Act 2017, hotel guests who are non-Malaysian or non-Permanent Resident of Malaysia, are committed to a Tourism Tax of MYR 10.00 nett per room night of stay as determined and imposed by the Malaysian Government, which is not included in the reservation and will be collected by the hotel upon check in. The hostel is quite close to several tourist destinations. The staff is friendly, the lobby is clean. The rooms are quite clean, but the upper bunk feels quite dangerous to sleep on because the iron railing is quite high for some body types and can cause falls. The bathroom is clean and soap and shampoo are provided.

My stay here was very pleasant. It has been the second time I have stayed and remained comfortable even though one room consists of 8 people, mostly foreign tourists and they are welcoming and friendly. Lounge facilities are also very comfortable and clean. Clean bathroom. In the lobby there are also various brochures about the city of Penang which are very informative and useful for tourists. Wifi facilities also function well. Strategic location and passed by public transportation. I would love to stay here when visiting Penang the other day

Coming here just sleeping overnight, coming late at night and checking out early, I sleep in a dorm that has 1 room, 8 people, clean mattress, clean bathroom, okay according to price, each mattress has 1 socket and a lamp, under the bed there is a box to put our things and there is a slot. Don't forget to bring a padlock if you want to put valuables so you feel more secure.

Hotel location very strategic. You can walk to the chowrasta market. There you can shopping & drink the famous ais tingkap @ air sarbat, recommended. You can eat breakfast at the transfer road roti canai,very recommended,just need to walk from the hotel. Hungry at night? No worries lah,beside the hotel there is a small gerai called gerai abdul hamid.you must try the rectangular kuih,so yummy. Nasi goreng also yummy there lah. There is parking lot in front of the hotel. During the day you need to pay for it.just ask guidance from the receptionist. The room is spacious. Also have extra mattress. But the towel has old stained. I hope the hotel will change the towel. Please buy the new one la. Throw away old stained towel. The bed sheet & pillow cover also have stained. The bathroom is a bit dirty. Overall I enjoyed staying there despute some issue. Hope the hotel will upgrade more.ps before you book the hotel please read the details. All room have to share bathroom.

For penang and solo backpacking it's been 2 times staying at tido hostel. The place is strategic, near the hostel if there is a nasi lemak breakfast place and other things typical of Malaysia, if the night is close to culinary too. There is a self-service laundry place next to the hostel, the hostel is clean, comfortable and the wifi is very fast on the top floor where breakfast is comfortable, mineral water is sufficient.
