W Punta de Mita

Breakfast charges for buffet very high for a family of 4 and especially if one does not eat much but still wants a few options. Waiters also not very attentive to what was consumed and often charging for the highest price option.

Great hotel and beautiful beach. Our two complaints are the restroom had zero privacy and no door which is not idea for families with teenagers. The other complaint was the New Year’s celebration. The buffet and entertainment was $450 usd and up per person. Hardly worth the cost so we skipped and there wasn’t much available that night at the hotel. They did a good job closing all restaurants and being very vague on email prior to the trip on alternative options so we didn’t have any options other than pool food. The lobby bar had a couple of food options but they needed and wanted you to spend $1,800 for a family of 4 to attend the New Year’s party. They are not the only hotel that does this. We learned our lesson.

Friendly staff. Good food and drink options. Excellent variety of gluten free food options with knowledgeable staff on allergy requirements. Rooms are a little funky with limited bathroom privacy. Double room had limited storage but king room had plenty of space for stuff. Beds were comfy. Property is spread out but they do offer golf cart shuttle.

A good place to pass a perfect time

Definitely not worth it!

On a scale of 1-10 I wish I could give the W a better than 10! This resort is top tier. The view is beautiful. The beach the property sits on has soft sand, the waves are huge and guest enjoy surfing. The grounds are well manicured and constantly attended to, to ensure optimal comfort for guests. Our room had an amazing layout, with a private plunge pool on the rooftop. The decor in the room was amazing, the detail made it feel like home. The bed was soft, almost making it hard to get out of daily - are the blankets weighted? Probably! The automatic shades make the view from room beautiful without having to get out of bed! The dual shower heads and the outdoor bath tub made relaxation a priority, almost a spa feel! The staff greet you every time you cross paths. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. I wished we could have checked in a little earlier but understand why we couldn’t - other than that, I have no complaints. The hotel did accommodate a late check out so that made up for it tremendously! The food was not bad, very much upscale dining except the breakfast buffet. We enjoyed the French toast and the omelette station daily. We tried 2 dinner restaurants - Spice Market (Jose was great, attentive and a pleasure to see twice) ribeye was great - & Venazu - pizza was to die for, wood fired and fresh deliciousness. Overall we had a positive experience and wish we could have stayed longer!

The transportation options to and from the hotel are extremely unreasonably high in cost

Loved the W Hotel it was so relaxing , the people who work there are super friendly amd knowledgeable about the area . Breakfast was so good and lots of options !
