Van der Valk Amsterdam Amstel

The hotel was beautiful, with an excellent breakfast and an amazing spa, but several issues made our stay disappointing. I booked a room for three people—my wife, daughter, and me. At check-in, the front desk employee was outstanding. He recommended local attractions and explained alternate public transportation routes because the nearest station was under renovation.However, when we reached our room, we discovered it only accommodated two guests. My wife returned to the front desk, where we were told no three-person rooms were available and the issue may have been caused by our third-party booking through Hotels.com. The only solution was to give us a second room, separating our family, even though I had paid extra for a room for 3. The next day, while we were out, the hotel removed the extra room and placed a rollaway bed in our original room. Unfortunately, my toiletry bag, toothbrush, and a inexpensive bracelet were left behind in the extra room. When I reported the missing items, the staff couldn’t locate them and asked me to wait for housekeeping. After checking back for three days, I was told my belongings had been lost and was given a business card to submit a reimbursement claim. No credit or compensation was offered for the room issue. Although the bracelet wasn’t expensive, it had significant sentimental value. The hotel’s amenities were great, but the room mix-up, lost belongings, and lack of resolution left us very disappointed.

Heerlijk hotel, je kan altijd klagen over dingen. Maar voor wat ik hier betaalde was het boven verwachting. Aardige bediening zeker in de bar..service met een smile. Lekkere ipa op de kaart, klasse spa met Sauna.

I like that was very clean and also that the soap in the shower body wash did not have a strong fragrance.

Always an amazing stay here , very comfortable and not too far in taxi to central.

We love this hotel. It’s the second time we have stayed here when visiting Amsterdam. The hotel has a lovely vibe. Can’t quite put my finger on why. The rooms are spacious and the bar and restaurant facilities of a high standard. The hotel is close to a metro rail stop and makes accessing by public transport easy. On the outskirts of the city a little but so easy to get to. Will probably always stay here whenever we are in Amsterdam.

we spent 4 nights at this hotel at the end of our trip in the Netherlands. The spa and wellness center was LOVELY. The sauna's and steam rooms were great and we enjoyed relaxing in the pool. Just a heads up the pool is in the wellness center, so although kids are allowed it's not really a "jump and splash" kind of pool. We stayed in a family suite which was excellent, spacious, and well designed. The only minor feedback is that there is no air vent in the kids bedroom and if you close the pocket door it gets very stuffy in there. But the room was excellent and well appointed. We opted for the breakfast buffet and it was very comprehensive. The metro station in very close to the hotel and takes less than 15 minutes to Amsterdam centraal.

Fantastic place to stay with excellent facilities.

The property is well-maintained and clean. It is ideal for my work travel to Amsterdam. It is very close to the Over Amstel Station, so you can easily take the Metro into the city centre. I have stayed there multiple times and found that the front desk staff are not completely helpful. Both times I had check-in (room key pick-up) issues. The restaurant and bar staff are friendly. The breakfast buffet is a expensive for this location. There are spa amenities on the property, which I have not used.

Love this hotel. Stayed already 3 times. The best one in Amsterdam i would say. Close to airport, only 20 min away, great clean area, 2 min walk to metro station to go to the center which will take only 10 min by train. And cheap, arpund 2£. Hotel is very clean, well maintened. Great staff at the reception, very welcoming. Great staff at the restaurants, very friendly. Room is spacious, clean, love the design. Good tea and coffee facilities, water. In shower you have shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, which is great, not the 10 in 1 options :D body lotion in bathroom. Love the product, very good. Try SPA, so great amd relaxing: sauna, steam, aroma sauna, foot bath, relaxing area. Restaurants great. For breakfast good variety of food, delicious coffee and fresh juices. Try pizza from Moqum, you can take it as room service, very delicious. Bar itself is great. Highly recommended hotel.

Fantastic hotel and location if you want to be just outside the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s located on a canal, steps from the metro that takes you to the central station. Highly recommend - very comfortable stay, quality food, great amenities.

Breakfast is very rich and has all that you want a great start of the day. Rooms cleanliness could be improved . It's a few min walk from the Metro Station

We have never stayed at a Van der Valk before and we’re very impressed. It was a very nice Hotel with a beautiful room.
