Mercure Porto Centro Santa Catarina

Great central location, walkable from a lot of interesting tourist spots& hop and hop off starting point. Clean property, decent breakfast. It was a special occasion, it was my daughter’s birthday, the hotel did nothing special for that though !

Excellent location, short walk to all the sights you’d want to see in Porto. Very friendly and helpful reception staff, really love that there was always a fresh fruit basket and lemon water available on entry to the hotel. Restaurants are plentiful nearby. Very clean rooms, only complaint would be the mattress felt very firm, but that’s down to preference I guess. Overall would definitely recommend.

The hotel staff switched us from a classical triple room that we booked to a standard double room late at night due to clogged and leaking bathroom sink.

The lobby doesn’t have the usual checkin counter. Look for someone sitting at a table with a laptop. Small but function able room. A bit dark. Comfy bed. Has hand soap and shower gel but no shampoo or conditioner. Great location. Would stay here again.

Hotel is surrounded by steep streets which makes it difficult to walk anywhere if you are elderly and infirm.

Enjoyed the Hotel and the staff. Room was nice, except bed on the firm side. Service was good except for deceptive advertising about 17:00 to 19:00 Happy Hour at the front of the Hotel. My wife and I made a point to visit the bar during that time and each enjoyed a single cocktail. To our dismay the price was over 31 euros! This would be extremely high price without the "Happy Hour." With the "Happy Hour" this was shocking. When we complained we were advised that the special (being advertised in February) was "only good during the summer." The staff checked with company management who elected to not do anything to help. They (the management, not the staff) evidently value the few extra euros over the good will of their guests. This experience soured an other wise nice stay.

I enjoyed my stay however the walls are not as sound proof as advertised i can hear the next room other than that it was a great experience

Front desk personnel were quite helpful. Allowed us late checkout which made our travel plans much easier.
