Very good location & simple compact room with fantastic view of Edinburgh Castle. Comfy bed. Bit tight space for 2 but doable. Would be perfect for single travellers.

I'll break this down into the good and bad: Good: Our stay at easyHotel Edinburgh was perfect for our needs for this trip. We got off the train from London to Edinburgh and the hotel was a mere 15 mins. walk from the station. If you can't walk from the station, or you're going to or from the airport, there are trams & busses galore stopping just minutes from the hotel door. The place is tidy, clean, and presentable, with lovely desk staff that were friendly to deal with. For our few days in the city, it was a great layover to rest our heads at night and the view from our room of the castle and city was phenomenal (YMMV here depending on room). The beds were decently comfortable, although they are coil spring and not memory foam or a thick cushion top. Everything functioned save for 1 light bulb over the bed that was really inconsequential. We were in the city specifically to take in Fringe and some of the major historical attractions for only a few nights. And this where we transition to the bad; Bad: This room is SMALLLL. I mean like you could just barely walk past the bed, and you were using the toilet with your feet in the shower pan (1 unit shower/toilet almost like would be in a small mobile home/camper van). The doors didn't even open fully due to the size constraints. We're a fit, tall couple travelling with only 1 suitcase and couple small personal bags. A larger person(s) or even a couple travelling heavy, this room is NOT gonna be for you. 4 stars for us, YMMV.

I know the room booked was described as small but i didnt expect it to be so small. The bedroom "area was literally the size of the bed with not even a single inch on any side or either end. You could crawl onto the bed using the bottom 2ft on one side. The shower/toilet combo was dropped in one side and was as small as those found in Japan. Finally, the rooms and reception are upstairs. And noise from other rooms could be heard throught the night. Probably 2-3 times the price this room should have been priced at merely because of the Fringe Festival.

Basic hotel within walking distance to everything and transport options. Rooms are very compact which I knew in advance. No lift so come light. The lady at check-in was super friendly and got me room at 11am for £10 extra. I dont spend much time in the room so suited me just fine. Would definitely stay again.

On the plus side the hotel is handy for things to do in central Edinburgh and was clean enough, I booked it a year ago as we were going to the tattoo and even then it was the cheapest I could get at £172 for a room,I knew it had no window but didn’t realise how small and basic it would be, The double bed was tiny and we had to climb over each other to get into and out of bed as it fits wall to wall with no space either end, the room is so small one of us had to sit on the bed while the other dressed, there is no room for 2 people to move about and the shower / toilet area is very small The bed and pillows were really hard and uncomfortable and neither of us had a good sleep, If it was cheaper and you only need one night it might be ok but any longer would be too claustrophobic, I wouldn’t book it again as I’d rather pay the extra for a more comfortable stay,

We stayed in Edinburgh for the night, having seen the military tattoo. Our box ( because thats what it was) just wasn't what we had hoped it would be. We knew it was going to be small but, this room was not big enough for 1 person let alone 2. If you had a suitcase youd have to store it in the bathroom. If you needed the loo in the night youve got to climb over the other person to get to the loo. The bathroom was ridiculously small. Ive seen more room on a boat. No air con, we had to go and ask at reception to turn it up as it was freezing in there. It was just too small and yet we paid an over inflated price for it. Would not recommend this place at all unless your on your own and under 5ft tall.

Good: Friendy staff and great location. Bad: These room are so small that should be called pods. It’s a 2 x 2 metre space where a double bed fills the whole room wall to wall. There is no space around the bed even for a coffee table. The only space between the bed and the door is a 1m x 60cm space to stand in and walk into the bathroom. If you with a second person, be prepared to have one in bed or in the bathroom so the other can get ready lol. Is as ridiculous as it sounds. The bathroom itself is smaller than a train bathroom. Shower is next to the toilet, like a motor home. The rooms are noisy, and you can hear the neighbours through the walls adjacent to yours all day / night. The slamming of the doors all night is also bad. Every time someone slams the door, the walls vibrate. The rooms are freezing cause you can’t regulate the temperature from inside the room. The AC panel is controlled by the person in reception, so you have to go and ask them to change it if you’re not happy with it. The only storage in the room is a small hole under the bed to for 1 backpack, maybe a tiny suitcase, but not for big items. Overall is terrible and claustrophobic. No windows either. Will never stay at this property again.

The property was a good deal for the area. Really close to main Edinburgh attractions and transportation. The hotel was a tight squeeze but relatively clean. No ventilation in the room made it a bit musty. Staff was very friendly. Would not recommend if you have mobility difficulties or use a mobility device. We needed to climb a handful of stairs to reach even the front desk.
