The accommodation is perfect for a short stay, the room is clean, you just have to walk outside the hotel and everything you need is there. Food, shopping, MRT, bus, etc. I will surely stay there again 😊.

The hotel is very clean, and all the staff are friendly and very helpful. The room has a jet shower and a nice view. It’s also really close to the MRT station and the mall, which makes getting around so easy. I was pleasantly surprised that I could check in earlier without any extra charge. I really enjoyed my stay here. Will definitely come back on my next holiday. Thanks, lyf Farrer Park! 😊

Near Bugis, near Sultan Mosque, near Johor bus terminal. In front of the hotel there is a bus stop, and not far from there is an MRT station, there is also a bicycle parking lot. Many Muslims, halal food, and there is a small mosque behind the hotel. The uncle who waited was very kind, although rarely at the reception desk, after checking out I was allowed to leave my bag at the reception desk. Thank you very much, if I go to Singapore I want to stay here again. Next to the hotel there is an Indian shop that sells mineral water at a cheap price.

The location is very strategic, across from the MRT station. For travelers who travel by MRT, this hotel is perfect. What impressed me most was the incredibly helpful receptionists, especially Cammy. She was so friendly and kind, she felt like family. She also provided travel tips and recommendations. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Lovely stays, this hotel is quite new to the scene, the room & bathroom is clean (cleanliness is super important for me when traveling) Jordan who checked me in were attentive & a lovely gentleman. My window overlooking at the restaurant Yuan, beautiful at night when the lights is on. The ambiance of this place is just so exquisite. Bear in mind that this a boutique hotel, so the room is going to be quite small. Oh and the lady working at night shift, she was lovely with beautiful smile. Overall, I had a great experience coming back to Singapore after the pandemic, a-bit short for this trip, but I'm definitely coming back soon.

More about hotels in Rochor

Your Complete Guide to Hotels in Rochor, Singapore

Rochor is one of Singapore's most culturally rich and centrally located neighbourhoods, sitting at the junction where Little India, Kampong Glam, and Bugis converge. This makes it a staycation destination unlike any other — one where you can wake up to the aroma of freshly pulled teh tarik, explore colourful heritage streets before lunch, and end the day browsing indie boutiques on Haji Lane. Named after the Rochor River that once flowed through the area, the neighbourhood retains a raw, unpolished energy that is increasingly rare in modern Singapore. Hotels in Rochor range from wallet-friendly hostels to contemporary boutique properties, many occupying beautifully restored shophouses that tell the story of Singapore's multicultural past. For staycationers seeking authenticity, incredible food, and a neighbourhood that feels alive with character, Rochor delivers an experience that glitzier districts simply cannot replicate.

Best Areas to Stay in Rochor

Bugis Area

The Bugis end of Rochor is where shopping, culture, and entertainment intersect. Bugis Junction and Bugis+ offer air-conditioned retail therapy, while Bugis Street Market provides a more eclectic, open-air shopping experience with bargain finds. Hotels near Bugis tend to be modern and well-connected, with Bugis MRT station serving both the East-West and Downtown lines. This area is ideal for staycationers who want variety and convenience at their fingertips.

Kampong Glam and Arab Street

Kampong Glam, Singapore's historic Malay-Muslim quarter, falls within the broader Rochor area and offers one of the most atmospheric settings for a staycation. Hotels here sit among beautifully preserved shophouses, artisan perfumeries, Middle Eastern restaurants, and the stunning Sultan Mosque. Haji Lane, Singapore's narrowest street, is a magnet for those who love independent fashion, street art, and specialty coffee. The area has a distinctly bohemian vibe that appeals to creative and culturally curious staycationers.

Little India Fringe

The Little India side of Rochor is a sensory feast of colours, sounds, and spices. Hotels on this fringe benefit from proximity to Tekka Centre — one of Singapore's most celebrated wet markets and hawker centres — as well as the vibrant shops and temples along Serangoon Road. Budget accommodation options are particularly strong in this area, making it a smart choice for staycationers who want to allocate more of their budget to food adventures and cultural experiences.

Top Hotels in Rochor

Heritage Boutique Hotels

From exposed brick walls and original timber floors to contemporary art and designer furnishings, these properties offer a staycation experience rich in character and history. They are perfect for guests who appreciate unique spaces with a story to tell.

Many of these hotels have earned loyal followings among local staycationers who return repeatedly for the combination of comfort, character, and neighbourhood charm.

Budget-Friendly Options

Rochor is arguably the best neighbourhood in central Singapore for budget staycations. The area hosts a remarkable selection of design-forward hostels and compact hotels that offer clean, comfortable rooms at exceptionally friendly prices. Many budget properties here have won hospitality awards for their innovative use of space, quality amenities in compact rooms, and genuine warmth of service. The savings on accommodation free up your staycation budget for the incredible food and shopping experiences that Rochor is famous for.

Best Time to Visit Rochor for a Staycation

Rochor is a neighbourhood best experienced on foot, so the drier months of February to April and July to September offer the most comfortable conditions for exploring. However, the area's appeal is largely food and culture driven, making it enjoyable year-round regardless of weather. Weekday staycations offer better rates and a more local atmosphere, as restaurants and cafes are less crowded. Some of the best times to visit coincide with cultural festivals: Deepavali transforms the Little India side with dazzling lights and decorations, while Hari Raya Puasa brings festive energy to the Kampong Glam quarter. The annual Singapore Night Festival in August illuminates the nearby Bras Basah and Bugis precinct with art installations and performances, making it a particularly exciting time for a Rochor staycation.

Getting to Rochor

Rochor is exceptionally well served by public transport. Bugis MRT station, which serves the East-West and Downtown lines, is the main transport hub for the area. Rochor MRT station on the Downtown Line provides additional connectivity. From Changi Airport, you can reach Rochor in approximately 35 minutes by MRT via the East-West Line to Bugis, or in 20 to 30 minutes by taxi or private-hire car. Little India MRT station on the North-East and Downtown lines is also within walking distance, adding yet another transport option. Numerous bus routes pass through the neighbourhood along Victoria Street, North Bridge Road, and Jalan Sultan. For drivers, the area is accessible via the Nicoll Highway and Ophir Road, and most hotels provide guidance on nearby parking options.
