It was a good short stay despite one incident that should not happen at all at the hotel as hotel staff wrongly check out the wrong room and end up one of the hotel staff open the room door when me and my spouse are inside the room.

Great hospitality by the receptionist during check in and check out. Love the design and the mono colour of the hotel and the room. The bed was super comfortable. Will definitely come again!

Brilliant physical simplicity soured considerably by frosty attitudes in attendance
Monotony gets placed on a pedestal as an oddly effective palette of black and white is implemented on-site, enabling an unlikely atmosphere of sophistry to reverberate throughout. The less is more adage evidently has been adopted with a disciplined fervour as we encountered homely furnished spaces minus the unnecessary clutter. As far as making a fashion statement without coming across as overly ostentatious is concerned, the design masterminds of Hotel Mono have largely succeeded. By a stroke of luck, we managed to secure a studio king (inventory for this mid-tier room apparently gets sold out rather quickly). Spanning a mere 22 sq metres, somehow it managed to comfortably accommodate a king-sized bed, sofa, living area plus bathroom without making one feel claustrophobic. Exceptionally clean and neat all around, however the floorboards creak on occasion and the LCD television mounted on the wall offered dismally poor viewing resolution. Alas, not quite picture perfect. Then again, overall quality of customer service certainly leaves much to be desired. We consistently encountered stone cold faces at the front desk and along the corridors who probably reckoned it was excessive to properly greet guests, rendering the overall mood beyond chilly. Nary a smile witnessed save for a very bubbly Cassandra who was equal parts courteous and helpful, so yes kudos to her. Don't expect cleaning folks to promptly attend to requests for tidying up of rooms either, as some of them seem more contented huddled in a corner gossiping away. So much for warmth and genuine hospitality. Will the management of Hotel Mono kindly take heed and exercise exquisite care to remedy these shortcomings? We remain hopeful this dainty little property still desires to become anything but ordinary.

Chic and Basic
The hotel is situated strategically just a few minutes walk from the MRT Chinatown station. Food places are all over when you get to step out. Everything for us is just within walking distance. We just took a walk to get to Clarke Quay, Merlion, Fullerton, Raffles, Orchard, Chinatown Food Street. We would rate it a five for the aforementioned reasons but i would take a point off due to the lax housekeeping service which fails to replenish the toilet papers and toilet amenities and for not cleaning our coffee cups and for not emptying up our trash bins in the room.

Great Location and Staff
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Chinatown MRT on a quiet street. There are several restaurants on the street. At the end of the street toward South Bridge is a pub. Turn right on South Bridge and walk to the stop light and there is Nyang (sp) coffee - open early. Cross over South Bridge to Ann Siang Hill. Walk up the street to many restaurants - Tapas, French, Asia Fusion and bars up on Club street. The hotel is spotless without carpeting (a plus for me). The bed was comfortable and room while simple was well appointed. Great Wi-Fi. Large shower and bath for Asian standards. There was no street noise even though our windows were on the street. Small refrigerator with free bottled water. 7-11 is both on South Bridge and New Bridge. The staff was extremely helpful with helping us select excursions and the best way to get there. I asked a thousand questions and always received an answer with a smile. Ask for the card for the free walking tour of both Chinatown and Little India.

Literally Mono and Little Bit Monotonous
A very beautiful hotel indeed, visually, interior and exterior, and also functional at the same time. Great location nearby the Chinatown (I took a walk to Potato Head). But somehow it felt cold maybe because of it lacks interaction. It felt like sleeping inside a sci-fi props.

Great Location, comfy bed! but noisy from road side
I like the interior design with mono tone style, looks easy and simply by minimal. The hotel is looks very new. The location was perfect spot, nearby with MRT, china town food street, in center of china town, many local food, not far from Marina bay just few MRT station. Staff: at reception was helpful and friendly, fast check-in and check-out. Room: Not sure we lucky or not as we got upgrade from double rooms to Double plus, bigger room but near to street. First impression, was nice with windows and daylight with china town building. By evening time, pillows and mattress was comfy and good quality of bed sheet for small hotel likes this. After turn off the light, it seem to be turn on the light in room as curtain is just blind and classic window without any soundproof. So we hear all sound from outside...! Maybe other room type, might better idea. Bathroom & Toilet: Good! water high pressure was stable and hot water. Nice bath amenities set. Convenient: 7/11 not far just 3 min by walk. many Restaurant nearby and good to walk around that area.
