It was a memorable experience at Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel. I truly appreciate the hotel for giving us a complimentary upgrade to Premium Suite as well as a complimentary Bathtub in honour of my birthday. It was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. We were amazed at first sight when we stepped into our room and already knew that this hotel displays an exemplary reputation. Not to mention the distinguished Carousel Restaurant which provides a wide array of delectables that will never disappoint its guests. I also would like to commend the Hotel Staff for making us feel welcomed during our Check-in Day and greeting us whenever they see guests on hotel premises. Keep up the 5-star standard and would definitely return for another staycation here at this magnificent hotel.

Hotel is clean and comfortable to stay in, but service was rigid (didn't allow us later check-out even though we checked in later). Room didn't have bathrobes or complimentary snacks, limited order-in options. Breakfast was downright disappointing. Eggs were tasteless, didn't taste like eggs even. Could not even toast bread and the rest of the food was nothing to shout about despite coming from Carousel. Didn't feel like a relaxing stay, especially since both the pool and gym were closed. We had to source out for other forms of play for my son, which meant walking up and down the long route to the carpark with his daypack and essentials in tow. (He 's a 10 month old infant).

Prob because it was the last week of school holidays the weekend was packed. Check in queue was not that bad- roughly a 20 mins wait. We went about 2pm- Rooms were ready. We chose the premier king room- rooms were smaller than expected. Amenities nothing much- expected better coffee packets. Not hotel fault- but children running along the corridor and frequent crying from nearby room can all be heard. Celebrating a birthday so we requested wine glasses and ice-all need to pay $ 5 each. Breakfast queue was so long. We were so looking forward for the breakfast buffet and we were so disappointed with it. All in all, I think we prob expected higher from a 5 star hotel. The staff that we met were all great, just more of everything else. Maybe just bad luck for us.

1. No room cleaning services throughout my stay. 2. No visitors allowed to visit the room. 3. Less than satisfactory breakfast menu. 4. No bathrobe supplied 5. Have to request for change of towels and top up of toiletries. Overall it was a disappointing staycation which is rather cosy.

This is my 2nd time here. Room with no view. Not so comfortable bed even though looks clean. Really basic necessities. Breakfast was basic and not much choices. Totally opposite from lunch/dinner. Will only stick to their halal dinner buffet.

Pro: The staff were friendly. Cons: No bellboy service, you have to carry your own bags when check in and check out. Room is only cleaned the third day. We only given water bottle on the first day and on the day that the room is cleaned. The rug was still dirty when we first entered the room, there are chips, nuts on the rug when we check in. My wife complained about it at the front desk that afternoon. Average breakfast. Lack of staff maybe? Overall, 5 star hotel with self service.

Had higher expectations for Royal Plaza. Check-In. We arrived at 4pm and all the counters at front desk were manned. There is a separate check-in counter for guests in isolation. Registration process was done within 10 minutes thanks to Natalie's speed. Also a special mention to Rendi who was friendly enough to assist us with some queries. We booked a premier king room with halal breakfast and premier lounge access. Bear in mind, that the premier lounge access is now just a work space. So if you're paying extra to have "that" lounge experience, you'll definitely be disappointed. I feel that the hotel should make it clearer too and work with their hotel agent partners to make sure guests are aware. The room. Our room was on the 11th floor, and pretty spacious. Room was really clean and not dusty. Kudos to the housekeeping team. There were complimentary masks and hand sanitizer on the work table. Mini-bar was empty but fridge worked really well not just for display. There were complimentary coffee and tea (as a 5 star hotel should) but don't expect high end brands like TWG, Twinnings, etc. There were bedroom slippers, JVD hair dryer (hot enough to dry ladies' hair + cooling function), iron, ironing board, safety vault. Plenty of hangers and an average-sized closet. If you're planning to have visitors over, the hotel only allows registered guests (of course I'm not sure about loopholes because we stayed as a couple only). The room doesn't have a coffee table so it was difficult to eat with each other. The TV is a Smart TV but bear in mind that it's the old one (Samsung Led 40) so if you're planning to screen mirror, make sure you have an android device or an HDMI cable. If you have a chromecast, bring an extension chord and a router. It can't be connected to the hotel's wifi as it's a public network that needs log-in. The channels aren't plenty, english news channels such as Bloomberg, CNN, and CNA. Movies channels: HBO, AXN, Fox Movies, Fox Lifetime, the rest are country specific channels (Arirang, NHK world, Russia today, DW etc) We had a king bed which was a bit firm, in our opinion. Pillows were big but also too firm to our liking. The light switches are quite confusing. And the plugs didn't work at times. We tried to plug & via usb at the same time, and it didn't seem to work. The bathroom. Came with a bathtub. Rainshower and handheld shower + water pressure was great and temperature was easy to control. The main thing that spoiled the bathroom experience was the bidet. It was a hose type and you need to turn the valve on manually every time you'd use it. It made the whole bathroom floor wet and messy. For a 5 star hotel, it's just odd that they can't invest in good bidet handles. Moreover, it becomes a safety hazard as the floor becomes all wet and slippery. Be careful. Breakfast on Saturday morning was pretty alright. Although, with Carousel as it's brand name you'd expect better. You'd have to order hot drinks from the menu, and proceed to the stations to be served by the chefs behind the counter. This is their breakfast menu: Savory breakfast.-spinach with mushroom ragout.-chap chye.-fried rice.-hashbrown.-chicken cipolata sausage.-beans.-mee goreng.-congee.-oatmeal. Pastries & Eggs.-waffle station.-pancakes.-muffin.-croissant.-scrambled eggs (pre-cooked)-sunny side up eggs (pre-cooked). Chiller.-fruits (watermelon, honeydew, melon)-packet fruit juice (like airline fruit juices are packed, only. Apple and orange available) If you're like us who looks forward to the omelette stations at 5 star hotels, you will be disappointed. Sunday mornings are very busy. We went at 7:30am thinking we'd avoid the crowd but there was already a queue. If you don't want to join the queue, they set up a grab and go station just outside the restaurant, but they'll only have the basics and pack it in a bento box for you to bring to your room. Check out. They do offer express check out forms to you via email and after you just need to drop your keys at the express check out box right after you exit the lifts. Also, take note that the swimming pool and gym is closed. Overall, It's a decent hotel but we think you could go to better 5 star hotels that have more worth to your hard earned money as of now. TL: DR. Pros.-efficient staff.-basic amenities.-clean.-great location. Cons.-bathroom bidet.-firm beds and pillows.-no coffee table.-old smart TV.-breakfast too basic.

Room was not clean properly as we found stain on the sofa bed and some trash near the bin. We managed to have a room change and that 's it. No service recovery from the hotel when we called. No shaving kit and sanitary bag provided.
