Hotel location is excellent, easy to visit scenic spots. The staff are very friendly and very helpful, especially Anna working in the front desk, she is so patient and answers my questions and gives lots of suggestions which makes our stay and tour easily. The reception staff, one lady in particular, were great. The check in was lovely and the room great. Bed do comfortable and clean, well equipped and bathroom good. A very comfortable room - excellent. Sadly the lobby / bar restaurant staff let their colleagues down badly. They let the rest of the hotel, and the good experience we had otherwise, down. We had reserved a table and were sat at the table and them ignored for 30 mins (not even offered water or a drink) before we got up and left. We raised the issue with the reception staff, who recommended somewhere else to eat outside of the hotel saying the hotel bar was very busy due to the rain. However there were 50 covers in total and at least 6 waiting staff that I saw - all of whom were walking about actively avoiding eye contact when I tried to catch their attention. So o do. It consider rain to be a good excuse; and we got wet in the rain walking to another place to eat. I would like to give the reception staff and housekeeping team 5 stars but the restaurant staff 0 stars. They should try harder to not undermine their reception colleagues.

Areas to improve - luggage assistance on arrival given stairs, better organization in access to rooftop for hotel guests (was allowed up but only if we stayed in a corner due to allowing an unplanned reservation blocking off the space)

The most significant issue was the bed. It was extremely uncomfortable, and the bedding and linen felt very low quality for a hotel claiming five-star standards. The bathroom also had maintenance problems. The shower was leaking, and overall the room did not feel particularly comfortable. Room service was also problematic. The staff taking orders did not appear to speak English sufficiently to handle basic requests. When we ordered food, we had to repeatedly explain that I have a dairy allergy. This resulted in several calls back and forth, and we were never confident that the request had been properly understood. Ultimately, I could not eat the food because of this uncertainty. At one point, when we asked to be transferred to the kitchen to clarify the order, the staff inadvertently connected us to another guest staying in the hotel. Later, during checkout, we noticed that we had actually been charged for that call. Although the staff eventually apologized and said it was an oversight, the charge should have been removed immediately after the incident occurred, especially since they were aware of the mistake at the time. Leaving it on the bill until checkout felt careless and unprofessional. Overall impression For the price and the five-star classification, the hotel fell well short of expectations. The overall experience did not justify the cost of the stay.
